An underwhelming experience. Right off the bat, water glasses and napkins were dirty. This was remedied promptly but not a good way to start. Ordered a turkey panini - came out in 5 minutes, pressed, but not hot/borderline cold. Bread was soggy on inside from the apricot spread. Turkey was dry and tasteless. Overall, while our server was kind and the restaurant is charming, my experience was - like my meal - lukewarm at best.
This place is a little gem. The food is wonderful, fresh and generous.
I’ve ordered breakfast and lunch and they were absolutely delicious.
Recently, the owner noticed that I didn’t finish my meal and asked if everything was OK. It was a small matter that they had not made over medium egg as requested , but she was apologetic and quietly comped our meal. So generous and kind.
Highly recommend this place.

2 couples met for lunch before a visit to the nearby Chicago Botanic Garden. We had a reservation and ate indoors although there were a few tables along the street beneath red umbrellas. The room is bright, tables well-spaced and it's conversation-friendly. 3 of us had salads, one had the crab cakes. We all were pleased with our selections. Since there was one celebrating a birthday, the waiter brought a brownie with a candle in it and extra forks and plates so we each got...
