We sat outside. Music was pleasant. Food and drinks were delicious! Service was attentive and we weren't rushed.
On the plus side, Guanajuato is attractive and our booth in the rear room was very comfortable. Outdoor tables were also inviting. Unfortunately the quiet booth we asked for was right next to a table for 10 that was soon occupied by a large party of partying young women. No more quiet. Our food varied in quality. My husband and I thought our food was average. My fish tacos were very bland and I could only down them with lots of salsa (also bland). Even the chips were average. My husband rated his burrito "pretty good." Our companions gave higher ratings to the combo platter but all things considered, we favor other No. Shore Mexican restaurants.
As a regular and a local to this establishment, we were very disappointed with our latest visit. Service was subpar, as it took more than 15 to 20 minutes to get drinks. They were slow on a Saturday night and not all the tables were full. At no point was the restaurant busy yet it took forever to get chips/salsa, refills, drinks, and entrees. The bartender was also very snippy about having made our cocktails with casa migos when two guests claim to have seen him not use it. When I approached him to confirm, immediately after holding the bottle up, he held the casa migos bottle up but failed to notice it didn't have the pour top on, which only helped our case. Overall, extremely disappointed. This echos our experience the past 2 times too. Must be under new management or something to see this steady decline. Used to be a neighborhood staple.
Consistently high quality, fresh ingredients. Hand carved meats and fresh fish are why we keep coming back.
THIS IS PROVBABLY THE 10TH COUPLE THAT WE HAVE OINTRODUCED TO GUANAJATO AND IT NEVER HAS DISAPPOINTED! THE SPECIALTY MARGARITA S (DE ORO AND THE BLACK ROSEMARY) ARE THE BEST AND THE EL MOCAHETE AND STEAK FAJITASARE FAVORITES. THE SERVICHE AND CASA FUNDIDO ARE GREAT APPETIZERS. ALWAYS HELPFUL WAIT STAFF. CHECK IT OUT!
Always the service is Very attentive and pleasant. Meals are always prepared well: wholesome, tasty and a very good value. Exceptional family friendly restaurant with much value for your $. Appreciate the spaciousness of the restaurant and outdoor dining options. One of our family favorite restaurants for many years.
Overall, everything was really good. The atmosphere was buzzing, and our server Gustavo was great. A solo guitarist entertained nicely. The table salsa was great. The soups were excellent, the enchiladas and tacos very good. The amount of food was very generous. However, things were less than ideal when the entrees were brought while we were still in the middle of the soup course. Very disruptive. The dishes were just plunked down in front of us and we had to make room. We probably should have sent them back but didn't want to be jerks.
Our server was so disappointing. I had him on Saturday night as well and he was just as inattentive then. We were charged $2 extra for tortillas that arrived AFTER we finished our meal. Tonight we had empty water glasses and our server was super-sassy when we weren't ready to order (the restaurant was empty so our 6-top should not have been an issue). We ordered the guacamole- suggestion: don't serve an ice cream of guacamole in a giant SAUCER. I asked our server if that was normal and his response was, “yeah”. No apologies no offer to re-do it. We never got salsa or chips refilled. Wish we had the bartender as our server or the tall guy with the ponytail - they're both attentive and accommodating. I won't be returning for a while.
one of our favorite restaurants and seldom disappoints. The el molcajete is unique and fantastic, the steak fajitas were perfectly done and love the margarita d'oro and the elderberry margarita is unique. service was excellent as usual. Best Mexican restaurant on the north shore!
Very small order of guacamole; terrible skinny margaritas; small pours of wine; very poor wine selection; extremely loud - put people with kids in the back room. Food average. We have patronized each iteration of this restaurant for twenty years and have been very disappointed the last several visits. Unfortunately, we won't be back. Too bad, Marguerita, you had a really great thing going until now...

We really like this place! Was a little crowded as the back room was set aside for a private party but the staff worked hard to get us in asap! Food and service great-- as always!
Guanajuato is our favorite Mexican restaurant. With consistently high quality food, a great variety of selections, moderate prices and terrific service (Gustavo was the tops!) it would be hard to beat! The Margarita list is creative, and the tequila list is long, but don't expect too many wines! Also, this is a family friendly establishment, so don't expect a romantic evening! But we have grandkids, so the noise and activity is fine, and not an interference. We love it!
Great food and incredible staff! Margaritas are the freshest I’ve had!

Love this place. Great options outside of the typical texmex. Try the chipotle salmon or shrimp. So good. Also the best margaritas around.

We ordered take out: the food was ready for my pickup when I arrived. The tortilla soup, taco dinner, and enchiladas suivas were excellent. It made for a great dinner!
