First of all, I am very disappointed. There was a church event, so we catered about 40 servings for adults and children. We ordered jjolmyeon, japchae, pork cutlet, and kimbap, took them out, and ate them for dinner at a church event. However, the pork cutlet was dry and twisted, the kimbap was cold, and the spinach in the kimbap was sour that I couldn't eat it. The last part of the church event was a meal, but the children were not even allowed to talk about it. One person even said that the kimbap smelled like mold, but that wasn't the case. The ingredients in the japchae also smelled like mold, so I threw away the japchae without even burning my hands. I'm so upset. The church event was ruined. The children couldn't eat it. The dried and twisted pork cutlet didn't smell like mold, so they just ate it. Everyone reading this review. I sincerely hope you never order food from here. This is a place that sells poor food at high prices without any regard for the health and happiness of its customers. Thanks to your verification and confidence, I am posting an honest review.

Korean Spoon is low key excellent! It is a small hole in the wall in a small strip, and while their business is largely catering, they do offer dine-in (Tue-Fri: 11am-2pm). There are also prepared side dishes and foods, like various kimbab and Korean pancakes you can pick up and go. There are traditional soups/stews and Korean entrees/snacks offered. The yukgaejang and kalguksu are very good. While most other Korean restaurants in the area have raised prices and cut back on protein/portions, Korean Spoon continues to offer quality food at comparable prices. The owner is very kind and courteous. Really great place for down to earth homestyle Korean cooking and wish they had more dine-in hours. Check them out!

Wow. This was my first time trying Korean food. I tried the pork kimchi and wow was it amazing. I have never tasted anything quite like it. I have a sensitive stomach and it never upset my stomach. The ingredients tasted so fresh and so good. I will be back to try more of the menu!

It was a hidden gem I found. It looks like a 분식점 and the food was as good as I expected from a 분식점.

Korean spoon has been around since before the pandemic, and did super well despite the pandemic. They offer so much to-go banchan serving local Korean community, high quality and quantity homemade banchan. You can't find that just anywhere except a few places in Niles/Glenview.Their parking lot was a struggle as it literally is off the road parking, but there are generally enough spaces for 8+ cars. Spicy pork-- this by far is my favorite. First bite really reminded me of the foods I had in Korea. Not overly sweet like many other places, but the marinate flavor really seeped in. It's one of the few spicy porks around the area that isn't too spicy! And they give a decent amount of meat as well as nicely roasted vegetables coated in the sweet spicy gochujang sauce. Kimbap-- I was just gonna order one but I think they package them in two rolls at a time so one is $4.50 and two is $9. I just went with two. They were very thick and I love that they added in spam and burdock roots. The sesame flavor does not come through as much as ASSI plaza food court's but it feels more filling. Flavor is otherwise really balanced and great!Bibimbap-- i love that they provide decent quantity of toppings, really very generic, what you'd expect toppings but all are in really good quality and quantity. Rice is just white rice, as opposed to other nearby places that serves purple rice. But overall, exactly what you'd expect in good quantity and quality.Kal gook soo-- I picked this in hope the kids would eat. This has seafood flavor with peeled shrimp, zucchini, and peeled potato. Thick udon like noodles. I mean, the flavor and smell are great, but my younger kids didn't like it probably because the broth was a bit too thick because of the starch. And the noodle was thicker than they were used to. Oh well, more for our oldest one.Japchae-- also really good quality. The clear noodles are soft but still bouncy and chewy. Also not super sweet, which is ideal in my opinion. Lots of depth of flavor, and vegetables are also had nice sesame roasted flavors. Very quantity too. Owner told me I could microwave it to heat it up, and that they make it fresh everyday.Banchan-- they give four very basic banchan, all are good and what you'd expect. we liked that the fish cake wasn't too spicy with the jalapeño and oil, so that my oldest could eat no problem. Overall, I think the quantity and quantity of this place is superb. I especially like that they don't go overboard on the sweet profile of Korean foods so that other flavors come through. I can't wait to try some of their own banchan stuff. Definitely will come back!

good jjolmyun and bibimbap. Although the jjolmyun is a tad sweet. The banchan is really good too.

A hole in the wall authentic Korean restaurant with traditional Korean meals for reasonable prices! Food was served with a lot of free bonchon (side dishes) and piping hot when I got the kimchi jigae to go.Service is friendly and I highly recommend stopping in— if you can manage to go between their limited hours!
