I been visiting Josephine’s since the early 80’s when it was a quaint little gift and fabric shop. I’ve introduced friends from from all over Illinois to this gem, and as far as California. And now for over 36 years they’ve invited their family and friends. What a wonderful place to visit! I’ve never been disappointed! Keep it going Sherri and Fred?
Yum! Worth the trip for excellent food, astounding, desserts, and fun shopping.
Visited Josephine’s yesterday with the Jane’s Journeys bus group. Josephine’s did not disappoint!! Our food was great plus those desserts were outstanding. Traveled over 2 hours to experience this special place and glad we did. Unfortunately time was limited in the gift shops but I guess enough time to make a few purchases. We plan to return!!!

The tea room has a charming atmosphere, perfect for a ladies' lunch, with enchanting decor and a lovely patio filled with flowers in warmer months. The restaurant can get quite busy, especially on Saturdays, so it is important to make a reservation. Guests can enjoy a cozy meal by the fireplace during the holidays. The staff is consistently extraordinary, making attentive recommendations and patiently going over the dessert menu, which offers many tempting choices. The tea selection could be improved, and there are limited options for vegetarian and vegan diners. A fun aspect of visiting is the boutique stores on site to explore. It is recommended to save room for dessert, as the variety is sure to impress.
