We were in Carthage on a Monday for other reasons, and needed to eat out before getting home to Macomb, but quite a few places were not open until Tues/Wed. We saw the reviews for the atmosphere and food - especially repeated references to TACOS and how great they are.It’s all true - the food is great and the calm atmosphere, friendly staff and locals all chatting.The food does taste and looks homemade too.
This is my kinda place! Small town local bar with cold beer and fresh food. I got to know Mary not only as a bartender but as one of the owners and learned a little about Hamilton. If you're in the, I would highly recommend stopping by to say hello.

Great food! Lovely people…even the customers there were friendly. If you’re non-local I would say don’t judge a book by it’s cover! I was not so sure when I first walked in but the staff was so friendly I couldn’t leave. When I got my taco and chimichanga for a reasonable price I was glad we stayed! Fresh tasting and unique! The people there are very warm too. You feel like family there. We’ll definitely go back.
