I’m a little bummed that I can only give four stars to Pixca. I have wanted to come here ever since they opened, and I heard and read a lot of good things about the place and the chef, so maybe my expectations were set a little too high. First the good: the service here is really nice, both the hostess and our waitress were attentive and friendly. We came on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed. Definitely make a reservation. The decor is nothing to call home about. It’s a small space and the tables are so close to each other that the waitress had to move our table when the people next to us were leaving (and even then the backside of the gentleman squeezing through was rubbing on the side of our table, about 6 inches from my chicken). As a result it’s incredibly loud. Definitely not for first dates. The food was really good, I had the chicken, my friend had the burger, and we had a side order of the coffee glazed carrots - this was really tasty. However, I was not a fan of the plating at all. Dark table, dark plates and on my plate the roast chicken with mushrooms had no bright colors to contrast or pop. There was a sad slice of citrus on top - reminding me of all the missed opportunities to make the dish look pretty. It tasted good though. The burger also didn’t look great (although my friend said it tasted fantastic). The coffee glazed carrots also weren’t dressed up at all - they were delicious for sure but not the least appetising visually. I will return to try other dishes and I heard the brunch is where Pixca shines.

Chicken & Waffles were sooo flavorful and perfectly complimented each other. My husband said the oatmeal banana pancakes were amazing. New fav after-church brunch spot. I wish I visited so much sooner!

The food was EXTREMELY SALTY. We are used to restaurant food being saltier than what we cook at home, but this was well beyond that! It's too bad because the service was excellent, the atmosphere pleasant, and the portions very large.

An excellent little restaurant in Highland Park. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here and we'll definitely be returning soon.

Get the Manhatten.

Glad I discovered this place and will go back again to try more of the menu. A good place for a night out in HP with a few good friends.

We had an exceptional dinner. We frequent restaurants in Highland Park and Highwood often. This was our first visit to Pixca. We were pleasantly surprised with the the quality, quantity and taste of our menu selections. Better than all the restaurants we usually frequent.

Chilaquiles, eggs Benedict, veggie omelette, breakfast quesadilla and I had the shakshuka. Perhaps because a few days ago I was at a Mediterranean restaurant with a v delicious version of this dish, the firm texture of the chick peas in the tomato stew too much contrast to the softer cook of the eggs. The quesadilla also needed an element of spice. Cinnamon roll was a nice sweet ending to the brunch.

New spot definitely worth checking out. We had a fantastic experience for dinner tonight! My seafood bucatini dish was positively divine! This establishment definitely has a few growing pain/quirks due to being a brand new restaurant. For instance, the restrooms weren’t the best.

Outstanding North Shore Dining Destination! Food is phenomenal. Very fresh farm to table, high -quality food, generous size portions and reasonably priced…all prepared with passion to emphasize and compliment flavors. The Chef is extremely talented and has mastered the art of combing spices/flavors so they accentuate in a very subtle way—makes you want to lick your plate clean! The menu changes seasonally, keeping it fresh and interesting!

The wait staff, food and experience was amazing. The breakfast burger and veggie omelet just great. I know Country Kitchen is across the street but this place is well worth to visit and have breakfast!! Try it :)

I truly love this place. I never review on Google, but this restaurant is too good not to - every dish is unique and thoughtfully put together. The servers are very knowledgeable and attentive, and the owner Fernando is very welcoming and hospitable. Love!

Also don’t sleep on their weekend brunch - incredible!
