The staff is excellent. Always pleasant especially if your lucky enough to get the waitress with German/Polish accent, she's top notch. Always keeping an eye on the table but not rushing you out. One of my favorites in Joliet.
I'm assuming the issue was due to a large group in the back area. My party of 6 got seated at a 4 person booth with 2 chairs put in the aisle. Drinks took close to 20 minutes to arrive. 10 minutes later the salads came. Then there was a little over an hour wait for our meals with no expectations as to the delay. 1 steak ordered medium rare arrived over cooked. Oddly, it's replacement came out in about 3 minutes. Otherwise, the food was delicious.

I had the 28 ounce Porterhouse on New Years Eve, about 4 ounces of it was actually edible. Most of it was fat and gristle, poor quality. It had been a long time since we were there and will be the last time. I did not complain because I did not want to make a bother on the holiday.

We went to Al’s steak house for our anniversary today. The service was a nice lady but we got there at 5 and didn’t leave until 7, the service was terribly slow. My husband got a New York strip steak and he said it was the worst steak he’s had in a while, no salt or seasoning just very bland. It’s a shame cause Al’s had such a nice reputation for delicious food and great service. Probably won’t go back for awhile since we spent so much for something so bland

Al’s is an institution but what I want to talk about is the rack of lamb. I’ve had lamb a lot of places most recently Morton’s, Gibsons and Hinsdale steakhouse. Al’s is $20-30 a plate cheaper, comes with the best double baked potato you’ve ever had and the lamb is better tasting and better chef preparation than these other places. For less money. I think Al’s rack of lamb and the pizza at Salernos on the Fox in St. Charles the two best meal values in Chicagoland area. Eat at Al’s.

Our food order for dinner took forever . When it arrived 4 people out of 5 at our table got their meals and the food was cold. My son's dinner arrived 10mins after ours which is totally inappropriate. We couldn't wait to get our check and leave. Our check was $400 with terrible service. Very disappointed.

Epiphany was our server and she was very friendly and welcoming, my partner and I had a wonderful dinner, the atmosphere was great, and I found everything on the menu to be very enticing. Would recommend for a good dining experience, pleasure or business.
