Drove up to Lacon Sunday afternoon from Creve Coeur. My step daughter had informed me that anyone with a first name of Don was entitled to a free dip of ice cream that day. They serve the best ice cream around and I just thought why not! Took my little buddy Darryl with me. He had two cups of ice cream and I had one dip of their fantastic butter pecan and a cup of coffee. We spent close to an hour there just relaxing. Always a pleasant surprise to find a nice coffee place in a small town. I only had a coffee, but the menu looked promising. Coffee shops in small towns are extra interesting cuz they concentrate the misfits, the artsies, and the posers from miles around. And that's just fine.

I came here because I wanted to try a coffee shop outside of Peoria and the Heights. I must say this is one of the best shops I've been to. They have so many flavor shot options. I didn't expect that in a small town like this. Also, the barista Brad was super kind, helpful and made a great latte!
