We have been to Mari’s twice now and both times we’ve had delicious food and great service. We’ve tried the carne asada with beans & rice, elotes, cheese quesadilla, nachos, horchata and fried ice cream. Unfortunately we were too in a hurry to enjoy our food this time around and forgot to take pictures, but included the pictures from our first trip. Everything we’ve tried so far has been very good. They give you complimentary chips and salsa once you are seated which we thoroughly enjoyed (and we are picky about salsa) and thought was a nice extra touch. Portions for what we’ve tried were pretty hearty and could definitely be split between 2 people if you wanted to do that. We’ve had good servers both times who were attentive and friendly. We’ve especially gotten ourselves hooked on the horchata and homemade guacamole. Will definitely be back on repeat no doubt. If you’re craving Mexican food, come support this small business!!!

What a great little hidden jem in Lake Zurich. I've been wanting to try and glad I finally did. Food and prices are great. I would have to say the most authentic in the area.
The food and service at Mari's restaurant was excellent. Such an extensive menu! My family all ordered different things (zopes, flautas, a beef stew, pupusas and more). And we even had some delicious desserts including fried ice cream. The portions were very generous and the prices were amazing. The owner's whole family works there and you can tell that they put their heart into the business. I would highly recommend giving them a try.
