The experience was very good. The food was delicious. We ordered the fried okra and green tomatoes appetizers, then we had their Caesar Salad and Fried catfish fillets. Everything was fresh, hot and well seasoned. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend Dixie Kitchen and Bait Shop as a great place to check out for a good experience and good food.

Dixie Kitchen never disappoints. The food is packed with flavor and feels like real Southern home cooking — from the cornbread to the gumbo, everything tastes fresh and made with love. The fried catfish and peach wings are my go-tos, and the portions are always generous.

The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, with that cozy, casual vibe that makes you want to stay a while. Service is friendly and fast, and everyone always makes you feel at home.

If you’re craving authentic Southern food in the Chicago area, Dixie Kitchen is absolutely worth the visit. Great food, great people, and great energy every time!

Was denied service because I have a service dog. Literally kicked out.

Too many fees passed down to the customers. Not worth it anymore. They notify you of these fees as soon as you walk in. What a way to greet a customer.

You have to wait for the entire party to arrive to be seated. Could have had appetizers and drinks while waiting for others to show up

This restaurant has consistently produced good food. I ordered the fried okra (delicious) but need a better dipping sauce. I also ordered the blackened catfish wish is good as well but very spicy. The coleslaw was okay. Their Johnny cakes, however, are really great. The only negative aspect of my dining experiences here are the charges. They have automatic gratuity added regardless of party size and there are card fees for using anything other than cash. While I do like this place and recommend it, I don’t go as often now because of the fees.
