I am writing to formally report a very disappointing experience at the IHOP location in Lansing on **Sunday, December 28, around 3:00 AM**.
Our group was one of two large parties that arrived around the same time. Upon entering, we were greeted by an employee named **Aaliyah**, along with another staff member, who informed us that one of the cooks had injured themselves and that they would not be able to seat us. We were completely understanding of the situation and offered to split our group across separate tables to make things easier for the staff.
At that point, Aaliyah responded with a noticeable attitude and told us to “sit down,” while informing the other large group that they would need to leave. We were then seated at two tables with two different servers.
Although Aaliyah was not our assigned server, one of our guests politely asked her for a glass of water. She slammed the water down on the table and stomped away without saying anything. Throughout the interaction, she was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly rolled her eyes at members of our group.
We then asked to speak with a manager but were completely ignored until our actual server came over and informed us that there was no manager on duty. We were advised to call back later and ask for **Tim or Maritza**.
The behavior we experienced from Aaliyah was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. While we understand that working overnight shifts—especially during staffing challenges—can be stressful, there is no excuse for treating customers in this manner.
As a result of this experience, we will no longer be supporting this IHOP location. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to address customer service standards at this restaurant.

Entry section was very crowded and there was no organization or system in place to separate dine-in patrons from pick-up orders. When we were seated we waited 20+ minutes to be acknowledged by the waitress and for our order to be taken. We waited another 20+ minutes for our drinks (everything was watered down and nasty). And another 30+ minutes for our food. The food was not good - two people found hair in their food, people were missing items, and it was just a mess. Granted we came on Christmas morning so I know it was busy, but there should have been more/better preparation and even though the food was clearly not rushed, it tasted very rushed and not good. A lot of food was left uneaten at the table and we still had to pay for it.
