This review is unfortunate because I actually liked the bagels. However, this place has an incredibly inefficient sandwich-making system. It takes them close to 10 minutes to make 2 sandwiches.

Also, the short lady who works there might’ve given me the rudest counter service I’ve ever experienced. She clearly wanted to be anywhere other than where she was, so we gave her a nice smile and a “please” and “thank you.” She rewards us with incredible attitude. She couldn’t possibly comprehend that my order deviated slightly from a normal sausage, egg, and cheese. Then, we order bagels to go. She (maybe purposefully at this point) gave us 3 incorrect bagels. When we told her that there might be 3 of the wrong bagels in the bag, she stared at us dead-eyed for 5 seconds then said “what?” multiple times, as we tried to explain what had happened. She gives a nice, big sigh then starts taking the bagels out of the bag and tossing them onto the counter. She found the 3 incorrect bagels and spiked them down back into their bin. Then turns to me and says, “you couldn’t have told me all this sooner??” Even the customer next to us turned to us with a confused look.

Again, the bagels are great; the sandwiches were great; but I’m never coming back here.

45 min for two bagels is terrible. Will not come back ever again time wasted for something simple

My server was a tall older Mexican man. He looked my boyfriend and me up and down as if he had never seen black people before and was rude on top of that he overcharged me for my food and threw our sandwich together.
It's bad enough that the local whites were looking weird which is typical for the area.

So you would think a Mexican man who is considered a brown person would have at least been nice but he wasn't.

But,
I was excited to visit this location 📍 for their fresh sandwich because I am a regular at the one on Dempster and was told to check it out.

Even though the experience wasn't great the bagel sandwich and two danishes weren't worth the $28.50. Especially since it came with rudeness and odd looks for another person who is considered colored in a white man's eyes.

This place is great! Late hours, impeccable sandwiches, and super cool to see the bagels being made in the back! Its even better now that I can paint ceramics next door at Paint-n-Party and get a snack while I wait for them to dry. I will be doing both much more frequently!

Forgot the sausage on my breakfast bagel even after asking me twice. Friend got the the egg salad bagel and gave them food poisoning👎

Ordered 6 bagels, repeated the order twice and the guy still got it wrong. Too many bagel spots to come back. 2 stars because the bagels and cream cheese are good just poor service

Nothing like a NY bagel. Doesn’t look or taste like one. These bagels are too fluffy. Had to throw most of it away.

The lox sandwich barely has any lox yet they charge $12.99 for it. I didn’t want onions or tomatoes and they were the bulk of the sandwich. Hardly any cream cheese.

The chopper liver was extremely dry and flavorless. They apparently skipped an ingredient or two to make it edible. Do not recommend.

The whitefish salad was no better. I couldn’t even tell what it was.

Not sure why this place is popular, but it shouldn’t be. Slow and poor service, bad food.

Only good things were the Dr Browns soda, the dessert case (which not one person purchased while I was there), and the fact it’s take out only.

This place is absolutely gas. 100/10.

For under $7 you get a perfectly made brisket sandwich with a good portion on a fresh made bagel.

I love that the staff really could care less if I was there or not but still get great service and products.

Top notch bagels made fresh everyday! There will be a line out the door on most days!!
My favorite is the lox sandwich. I always judge a place by how much cream cheese on my bagel —- you will not be disappointed… they do not skimp on the cream cheese 🤪

Line moves pretty quickly. When it was my turn to order, the woman talked across another customer who was also having their order taken so she couldn’t hear me. She muttered an expletive under her breath expressing her annoyance and then stepped around her colleague. Yes, I could have also stepped around the customer, but then it would be perceived as cutting. Ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. Didn’t realize they microwave the sandwiches so it was like consuming lava and destroyed the roof of my mouth. The bagel was also almost burnt. Save your mouth and just order a bagel with schmear. Overall, an unpleasant experience and would not recommend.

The bagels are to DIE for. And dont get me started on the chive and jalapeño cream cheese.
