Zaap Zaap Thai Reviews
Hidden gem with excellent food. We frequent a few times a month— because the food is just that good. Our fav apps include Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoon, & Pan Fried Dumplings. For entrees, can’t go wrong with Homemade Dumpling Soup, Thai Style Fried Rice, Pad Thai, or Thai BBQ Pork with noodles. My husband is more adventurous and his MVP’s are Massaman Curry & Thai Red Curry. We are slowly making our way through the entire menu but hard not to just order our favorites every...read full review
The food is always fresh and the owners are so friendly!
Tried to go there yesterday 12/27/2023 didn’t see anything to indicate they would be closed. Drove 30 minutes only to see a dark restaurant. Very upset and disappointed. There are other Thai restaurants closer to home but I wanted to give this one a try. I guess I’ll stick to ones that are closer to me. Won’t go back for fear they won’t be open when I get there.

Zaap Zaap Thai is a popular Thai restaurant in Lockport and Illinois, known for its delicious dishes like pad kee mao and basil fried rice. The crab rangoon and pad thai with peanut butter sauce are highly recommended. Despite its simple exterior, the food stands out, with dishes like shrimp with cashews and tom-yum soup impressing customers. The restaurant is family owned, and the staff’s kindness and helpfulness add to the welcoming atmosphere. Many guests come back weekly, craving the authentic flavors and generous portions. The restaurant offers a small, humble setting with limited seating, so takeout is often preferred. Their drunken noodles are considered among the best in the country, and the spice level and care put into each dish make a noticeable difference. From chicken pad Thai, glass noodles with shrimp, beef basil rice, chicken skewers with cucumbers and peanut sauce, to sticky rice & mango, everything is described as absolutely delicious. The restaurant's focus on spicy dishes means the heat can be quite strong, but mild options still retain chili flavor without the heat. Overall, Zaap Zaap Thai’s outstanding food and friendly service make it a top choice for Thai cuisine in the suburbs, with many loyal customers who appreciate the authentic taste.
