“I’ve been to plenty of local coffee shops around Chicago and Sputnik is the absolute best. I stumbled upon this hidden gem a few years ago on my commute to work when they were on 51st. It’s been my almost daily stop since then. I’ve switched jobs a few months ago and a Sputnik pit stop adds an extra 20 min to my commute but it’s absolutely worth it.

I highly recommend a hot oat milk vanilla latte but anything you order will be amazing. They roast their own coffee, make their own flavored syrups, and they’ve done both right. The fresh pastries and growing food options have made Sputnik the best all around coffee shop. If you’re a coffee lover, DO NOT sleep on Sputnik.“

Exposed brick, chandeliers, and a plant wall surrounds you - a grateful reprieve from cookie cutter Starbucks decor. Coffee, matcha, and baked goods are top notch (haven't tried cocktails or charcuterie yet). A wonderful mix of professionals, college students, community organizers, and socially conscious suburban moms escaping the kids (I'm sure I'm missing wonderful others). Sometimes I'm not sure how I manage to keep living in the suburbs when the city is still home for me after 10 years in Elmhurst, but Brewpoint certainly makes it easier.“

“I absolutely love this place. I get the steak sandwich with tomato onions cheese pickles and mayo. I also add lettuce. The orange sauce is so good with it as well. The bread is that perfect texture that is soft inside and kinda crispy on the outside, they toast it a little. All there food is good, I'm just obsessed with the steak sandwich. I order from Uber eats but in person they have more menu options.“

“The pastries are very delicious! I have a variety of them. They are some of the best I have had in unexpected combinations. The latte I had was floral and balanced. It was a Lavender Latte. If you love coffee and pastries, you do not want to miss out on this experience. Cafe Calida has a selection that is full of flavor that is truly sure to delight. “I was impressed with their healthy menu items. Had the Kale salad and cup of chili to go. Their salad to go container was a small square clear plastic that at first glance looked too small with all of it's ingredients squished including the dressing and condiment cups inside. I'm not a big fan of placing condiments cups or packets into or top of my fresh clean food ingredients. I would definitely ask for condiments be bagged outside of salads for future. As for quality and taste. Their menu doesn't mention that all of their produce is organic so had to ask and I was told they use organic greens. Which is a big plus bc I try to avoid any salad greens, fruits and veggies that are high in pesticides. As far as taste, once I arrived home and opened the salad, I was pleasantly surprised that while packed it didn't seem like much, unpacked and once arranged, it was a good portion for the price. The kale and veggies in my salad were fresh and crisp. Their in house dressing was also very good with quality clean ingredients! The cup of chili was small but hearty and very flavorful. It's exactly how I would prepare my own and I was very impressed with how well seasoned it was and had just the right amount of a spicy kick as Chili should be:) I will be returning to try some of their other items. I was curious about their Snickerdoodle cookie but never tried them before so $8 for 2 cookies was a bit much for me. I asked if they ever allow their customers to sample any of their cookies or menu items in general and I was told no. I would have definitely bought one cookie if it were an option. Would be nice if you offered your customers samples of small bites from time to time. It would definitely be an incentive to come back and try more of your menu items and specials in the future. I live in the area and had driven past this place almost daily and I'm glad I made the effort to find parking. Just like most of the city, it's becoming more and more difficult to find parking to even stop and visit spots like this. This is another reason you might consider appealing to new and returning customers that aren't walking distance to your new spot by offering lunch specials w/cookie or drink maybe and don't forget the complimentary bites:)

“Petite Vie was a total "find"! While looking on OpenTable for a dinner spot on Friday, I stumbled across a French restaurant that I didn't know existed. I mentioned it to a few friends and that Sunday we went to Western Springs to check it out. The place is bright, cheery and inviting. We sat at the bar and were waited on by Patrick; bartender, manager, entertainer! The cocktails were creative and awesome, the food (especially the Pork Chasseur) was outstanding and the entire staff was welcoming and helpful.
