“There is a wonderful Wisconsin type bar in Maple Park Illinois that has some of THE BEST FOOD around. WHEN we walked into LODI TAP HOUSE I instantly felt at home. I just love Wisconsin type bars and this one fits it so well with a BEER MUG CLUB WALL filled with mugs of all sorts, wood everywhere in a home style setting which made me sooo happy. We were instantly welcomed by Brittany the bar tender who told us to sit anywhere we wanted to. BRITTANY was amazing, there were several people there and she pleased everyone with her quick service, her wonderful personality and her great knowledge of the menu as the people who came in. Brittany knew her customers and catered to them accordingly. Brittany did it all up front with a smile on her face and a great laugh. We first ordered the HOMEMADE BEER BATTERED CHEESE CURDS and they were better than the ones in Wisconsin. They had a great tasting sauce with it and we asked for another one of these sauces for the burgers we ordered. WE then ordered their homemade beef soup and it was great... Lots of beef and veggie that were perfect for this soup. THEN came their burgers and WE JUST love them... I had a Tap house SMASH CHEESE BURGER double and hubby had a Blue Cheesy burger double, BOTH were incredible with flavor LOAD that exceeded my expectations. The Cheesy smash burger was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside just the way I love it. It had lots of Velveeta on it and it was wonderful with that sauce I put on is from the Cheese curds. Hubby's Blue Cheesy burger the same with lots of Blue Cheese and grilled onions on it. Both of us ordered the Fried Potato salad instead of the fries and it was wonderful. Fried potatoes chopped up nicely with and interesting cheese sauce, bacon and green onions. Everything about THE LODI TAP HOUSE MAPLE PARK is great and I cannot wait to go there again and soon. Cannot wait to see our new friend Brittany who was one of the best front restaurant worker I have ever seen. I left with a big smile on my face.“

“My Hubby and I hit the good Ole Brown Pub every now and then and yet, there she issss Msss Amerrric.. ?, okay, back on track ? Trina, LOVE her!!! I honestly don't think I have ever been in a small town like bar and the bartender literally knew just about every single patron that walked in the door, and already cracking that beer before they've chosen their Sweet Spot ? She is the kindest, sweetest, cutest and most attentive bartender, honestly, you'll love her too! The food is absolutely worth your time, so unbelievably DELISH! We have been eating here for years and have never had a bad meal or appetizer! Do NOT pass them by!! ?“

“Great place for a burger and a beer. Service is fast, friendly, and reliable. You could say the same about the food, I suppose- I have a years long friendship with their Frisco Melt. Bar is well preserved and clean, I have never been here when it is slow, but I don't think I've ever had to wait for a seat, there are many tables.“

Knuckleheads Tavern Bar • $
108 E North St, Elburn - 6.63 miles

“Cramped place seems even more cramped with a crowd. It was puzzling why there seemed to be so many bikers in Elburn. Knucklehead's turns out to be their main hangout. Has mostly drinks but there's also some typical bar food. The drinks are cheap and there's free popcorn. A lot of bikers around here. It turns out they like this place. There's always like a hundred Harleys in front, so just look for those and you can find this. Beer is cheap. Liquor is cheap too. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail. Whatever and Coke pretty much. Food is what is expected. Pretty cheap stuff. Free popcorn is always available. There's also stuff like frozen pizzas if they aren't out of stuff. Better than it looks. It looks sketchy but it's okay. The crowd can be louder than the Harleys but there's usually no bar fights or those kinds of things.“

J & K's Half Moon Tavern Sports Bar • $
120 W Lincoln Ave, Hinckley - 9.81 miles

“It had been many years since my visit to the charming hamlet of Hinkley Illinois. We strapped on the feed bag for an early supper so the crowd was small and the service was great. Rebecca was awesome, knowledgeable and friendly. I had their patty melt which was substantial. The "fried potato salad " had a nice mustardy/vinegary zing and a generous portion of bacon bits mixed in. Loved the Malort light fixtures...at least there is ONE redeeming quality to a bottle of Malort. The ambience is what you'd expect in a small town bar/restaurant . Across from us a couple was sharing a pizza and I tried not to be that creeper guy who stares at your food but, damn it looked really good. We will be back for sure!“

“First time here but we’ll be back. It’s not a huge place but we got here early so not a problem. Menu has a wide variety of food choices and beer menu was interesting. I had the broccoli cheese soup - to die for! - and spinach artichoke dip with pita chips. Husband had chicken bacon ranch wrap and fresh-cut fries. Everything was excellent. And bartender Steve was very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.“

“Came here the night of October 7, 2023. It was my girlfriend and I first time there. It was a great experience. Now as a black man, I'm always down for some good BBQ Ribs and when I seen they had some, I ordered a full rack with Fried shrimp. It came with an amazing baked potato and some fries. My girlfriend had the chicken patty melt on Rye with loaded tater tots. She said it was amazing. Very friendly staff. And followed order instructions perfectly. Will come back again soon.“
