I loved every aspect of this experience the food was amazing. The staff was kind And it was 100% affordable. If you are looking for a place that is cheap but also good, this places meets that perfectly.
I went to the original burger king! It was pretty good. Much better than the chain burger king. I tried the double burger with fries and a cherry shake. The shake is my favorite but the fries were so yummy too
Fun bit of history behind this place. Back in the 1950s, this local restaurant in Mattoon opened as Burger King and legally trademarked the name in Illinois before the national chain ever arrived. When the Florida based Burger King expanded into the state in the 1960s, it led to a famous court case that ruled the local spot could keep the name within a 20 mile radius, while the national chain had to stay out.
