“my wife and I fell in love the sampler platter almost all food is amazing here and especially when they have sushi cause it's an affordable twist new favorite place to eat with great staff and amazingly priced food and obviously food leaves you wanting to try things you maybe would have not. “The atmosphere and service are wonderful, but it's the food that makes Hunan my favorite restaurant in Mattoon. After moving to Illinois from California, we were looking for something bigger than a small-town cuisine. Hunan was more than expected. Date night turned into a delicious dinner. My husband had orange chicken, and I had the mushroom chicken, and we shared veggie lo mien. The food was amazing and flavorful. It exceeded our expectations. 100% recommendations. The service was a bit slow, but there was only 1 server, and she did her best to make sure we were taken care of. We will go back!“

“We had the buffet. I am very selective when I order fried chicken at restaurants. I love fried chicken and The Villa has the best friend chicken I have ever eaten. Hats off to the person in charge of frying the chicken. I won't mention his name, but he is the best at fixing wonderful friend chicken. My only complaint is I wish the fried chicken was available every day. We will definitely be back many more times in the future.“

“First time eating here. Such a treat to happen upon this wonderful establishment!! Our server, DAWN, is a jewel! As 1st timers she recommended the Family Pleaser Special meal for 2. Your choice of pizza and toppings, 2 drinks, 2 salads. AND the French salad dressing is home-made. Superb flavor. We even used it as dip for our pizza. We will be back next time we're traveling in the Mattoon area! Thank you Dawn for wonderful service and delicious meal.“

“It's standard Chinese buffet fare. The attendants are efficient and friendly enough. Take-away prices are reasonable for a night in with a date, not so much if you have a family with teens.I'm loathe to pay $60 for a family of 4 since it's like a half-day worth of pay... definitely moving this place to the "only on date night" column.“
