“Came from Chicago to Starved Rock and tried Sam’s Pizza. We paid 1,500$(discounted from 9,532$) for the most rich and flavorful Cheese Pizza I’ve ever had. Please if you come here respect this man’s craft. He is just one man and he makes the dough and sauce himself. Sam’s a bit hard to understand but he’s hilarious and friendly. Treat Sam as if you were in his home, and enjoy a delicious pizza.”

“I got chicken dinners to go. Was recommended by a family member. I had never been there before. The flavor of the chicken was good. I ordered one with a baked potato and one with an order of American fries. I was disappointed in both potato choices. One was very greasy and one was overcooked. The salads were good. So I got plenty to eat. The price was good. Not too expensive, about average with the area.”

“Best place we stayed between Chicago and Grafton, IL! We were stuck at Starved Rock lock for around 5 hours. We didn't get through until after dark (9:30-ish). I called and amazingly enough a guy named Chuck answered the phone! He said our boat was a little big for anything they had available but he could put us at their fuel dock for the night. He waited until we got there around 11pm, helped us get tied up then invited us to the bar for drinks and even opened the kitchen and made us supper! Seriously the best place we stayed. Fun, clean, not pretentious, extremely accommodating, and super reasonable prices! Thank you South Shore Boat Club - and Chuck - for your help and amazing hospitality!!”

“I don't normally spend time reviewing a franchise and this was my first and probably only visit to this location as I was traveling. I have to tell you, they made the best sandwich I think I have ever had at a Subway. It was perfect. Not too runny with the sauces, perfect amount of veggies so they weren't spilling all over. Bread was as fresh as I have ever had. Really great job to the staff and management.”
