“I got chicken dinners to go. Was recommended by a family member. I had never been there before. The flavor of the chicken was good. I ordered one with a baked potato and one with an order of American fries. I was disappointed in both potato choices. One was very greasy and one was overcooked. The salads were good. So I got plenty to eat. The price was good. Not too expensive, about average with the area.”

“Best place we stayed between Chicago and Grafton, IL! We were stuck at Starved Rock lock for around 5 hours. We didn't get through until after dark (9:30-ish). I called and amazingly enough a guy named Chuck answered the phone! He said our boat was a little big for anything they had available but he could put us at their fuel dock for the night. He waited until we got there around 11pm, helped us get tied up then invited us to the bar for drinks and even opened the kitchen and made us supper! Seriously the best place we stayed. Fun, clean, not pretentious, extremely accommodating, and super reasonable prices! Thank you South Shore Boat Club - and Chuck - for your help and amazing hospitality!!”

Except brought out the tenderloin plain had to request lettuce, tomato etc... server friendly, but other workers were speaking a foreign language at the counter, very annoying when English is the official language of America. Overall, it is ok for a reasonable cost meal.”

“I would like to provide a POSITIVE Experience we had recently visiting the Subway location in Ogelsby, IL off of I-39. We understand the owners names is “farmer John” . We stopped at approximately 4:30 pm Sunday, August 17, 2025 to enjoy an early dinner while traveling north to Rockford, IL. We were greeted with pleasant and professional staff who were eager to serve our needs. Their names were Andrew and Mariska and they followed all customer service protocol to in retail to make this stop a tasty, high quality, and efficient experience. We purchased a tuna footlong meal deal and dined in the dining room. The sandwich prep area was clean and well stocked with fresh protein options and fixins. The bread was fresh and very satisfying. The bathrooms were clean and fully stocked as well. All tables were clean and comfortable seating was available throughout the dining room. We THANK YOU for providing a fulfilling experience while on our travels. Keep up the good work. Hats off to the owner and management staff for outstanding hiring and training practices.
