“Cozy neighborhood style bar, with good decor and sports on TV. Empty when we were there less one other couple, but I suppose it's fun when there is a crowd. Prices are good for beer and liquor, bathrooms were spotless, as was the rest of the bar.”

The staff killed it, working together as a team they got through the line efficiently and accurately. The manager was awesome, she applauded the staff for their hard work! “Don’t sleep on this coffee shop. ☕️ I stopped at The Daily Grind on Route 6 this morning, and I’m officially saying it: this place is a gem in a cornfield. Normally, I grab a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich from a national chain on the way to work. Same routine. Same “fine but forgettable” food. Today, I downloaded The Daily Grind app, shifted my route just a bit, and went for a pour-over of their Ethiopian beans (roasted in DePue) — and noticed they had a breakfast sandwich. Friends… I swear this sandwich is on homemade bread, with the meltiest cheese, a perfectly seasoned egg, and ham that actually tastes like ham. Not microwaved. Not “warmed from frozen.” Just done right. Here’s the kicker: coffee + sandwich + tip = about what I usually pay for a sub-par Americano and a chain breakfast sandwich. The Daily Grind is tucked into the strip mall off Route 6 and Dalzell Blacktop, almost directly across from St. Bede. Easy to miss if you’re not looking — but you should be looking. And let this sink in: Spring Valley now technically has FOUR coffee shops. Add this one to the DO NOT MISS list. Same owners as Spring Valley Bakery, and it shows. They do coffee and mornings right. Highly recommend. Go get yourself a cup.”

“Please, please, please put the Korean Beef Bulgogi on your menu. My husband had it Wednesday night and it was out of this world delicious!! I kept stealing bites from his dinner. The meat was so tender and the flavor was so unique. This dish won’t be found anywhere else in the Illinois Valley area. My dinner was also delicious. Our service was great and we really enjoyed our time in your restaurant. Did I mention how much we loved the Korean Beef Bulgogi? 😂🤤🤤”
