The menu had so many options. Typical diner fare. I tried the biscuits and gravy and fried potatoes. The food was good and filling. Our server was pretty attentive and kept our drinks filled. Pricing was spot on.”

“Hands down one of the most delicious meals my husband and I have had. I had the Chicken Marsala, which our server recommended, and my husband had the meatloaf. Both dishes were incredible! Then we shared the Irish cream cheesecake for dessert, and it was to die for. Service and atmosphere were great, too. The next time we visit Peoria, we'll be back for another meal!”

“Don’t sleep on this coffee shop. ☕️ I stopped at The Daily Grind on Route 6 this morning, and I’m officially saying it: this place is a gem in a cornfield. Normally, I grab a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich from a national chain on the way to work. Same routine. Same “fine but forgettable” food. Today, I downloaded The Daily Grind app, shifted my route just a bit, and went for a pour-over of their Ethiopian beans (roasted in DePue) — and noticed they had a breakfast sandwich. Friends… I swear this sandwich is on homemade bread, with the meltiest cheese, a perfectly seasoned egg, and ham that actually tastes like ham. Not microwaved. Not “warmed from frozen.” Just done right. Here’s the kicker: coffee + sandwich + tip = about what I usually pay for a sub-par Americano and a chain breakfast sandwich. The Daily Grind is tucked into the strip mall off Route 6 and Dalzell Blacktop, almost directly across from St. Bede. Easy to miss if you’re not looking — but you should be looking. And let this sink in: Spring Valley now technically has FOUR coffee shops. Add this one to the DO NOT MISS list. Same owners as Spring Valley Bakery, and it shows. They do coffee and mornings right. Highly recommend. Go get yourself a cup.”

“Please, please, please put the Korean Beef Bulgogi on your menu. My husband had it Wednesday night and it was out of this world delicious!! I kept stealing bites from his dinner. The meat was so tender and the flavor was so unique. This dish won’t be found anywhere else in the Illinois Valley area. My dinner was also delicious. I have eaten there many times, all food is Outstanding in taste and presentation. Anyone who has not eaten here is Missing the Boat. Or it this Case Train! Above and beyond Clean and tastefully Train decorated! 5 Star Resteraunt all the way. Make the visit ASSP for a great dinner and Experience!”

“Great selection of hot dogs. You can either choose a place-named dog or build your own. No matter what, the staff was friendly and the food was tasty, hot and quickly served. Just be aware that most people take their food to go since there isn't much seating.”
