The Back Door Lounge is a cute spot with good drinks and outstanding pot roast. The cozy atmosphere by the fire is perfect after a day of hiking. The $27 spiked cider and pot roast deal is reasonable and highly recommended. Vegetarian options like the portobello sandwich and veggie burger are available. The lounge also offers delicious nachos and s'mores dessert. The service is excellent, with attentive and polite staff. The cheese curds are a tasty choice. While the food quality may be mediocre, the patio and view make it a safe bet for a meal after hiking at Matthiessen or Starved Rock.
