Went for lunch Feb 2026. Chicken salad was literally onions, onion juice, crushed onions, some celery & very little chicken. Corn beef sandwich was really just lunch meat, not sliced corn beef. Cheese curds were like $12 for small order. Very small menu & prices on high end plus fries or sides were add ons. We like to eat at local places, but very underwhelming. Meg is the best host. She has consistently been a great asset to our hiking community. We plan our trips for when she is bartending and serving. Thanks for her amazing service. We could go to any number of places to eat and drink after our hikes but we choose this one because of the great food and Megs service.
I’m leaving this review for anyone considering Starved Rock Lodge as a wedding venue. When life happens, you will not receive compassion and assistance from this venue, and I would not recommend booking with them. Four months before our scheduled wedding day, my late mother-in-law received a terminal cancer diagnosis, which required us to push up our wedding. We were unable to bring her out to Starved Rock due to her condition, so we ended up having a microwedding near the hospital...read full review
