Food obviously comes in frozen and is then over cooked because it’s forgotten about. No thank you.
R Place had been a favorite for literal decades. I was excited to go back recently for the first time since Covid. The menu changed massively and they eliminated many vegetarian friendly options. The prices skyrocketed. It was also the worst service I think I’ve ever had in a restaurant- the waitress was rude, untimely, and didn’t bring things after being specifically asked. Never to be back again. What a bummer.
We use to go here to eat many times driving our daughter back and forth to college years ago. We are from downstate. We were in the area and was excited to go. Unfortunately, a lot has changed. Menu has changed and not for the better. Service was slow. My fried chicken was burnt and dry. The broccoli was Lukewarm. It was between half cooked to raw. Very very disappointing. Too expensive for the quality of food we got. Slow service. Won’t be back.

RPlace is a unique restaurant located within a truck stop complex. The food and bakery treats are always tasty, with a typical menu that includes amazing options like the Louisiana skillet and chicken fried steak. The waitresses are cordial, efficient, and very accommodating. One recent visitor noted how sweet their server was, continuously apologizing for small things, which highlighted her amazing skills as a waitress. The interior is decorated uniquely and kept very clean and inviting, with lots of toys on display, making it a kid-friendly place. The restaurant also has ample parking for both cars and trucks, although parking may not always be an option. While the food is generally good, some customers have experienced slow service from their waiters, but the atmosphere is really cool and welcoming, with easy access for wheelchair users.
