RIP @ the caboose. We all loved it, it's a shame it closed. Food was great, ambiance was cute, and people were kind.

Great burgers and one of 2 places I know of in the area that has real cheese steaks. Process are a little high for the portions.

Small place with great food. The soups are very good have tried several things, the latest the grilled steak sandwich. Cooked to perfection. Have not tried any breakfast items yet but looking forward to it.

This is an awesome restaurant with some of the best cheesesteak sandwiches I've ever had. Hoping they reopen and keep that on the menu!

The caboose was fantastic, the food was great, fun with all of the train paraphernalia. We took our granddaughter and the menu was perfect for all three of us

It's been a long time since I was last here but the food is always good. it's a nice combination between comfort food and unique food, so if you're looking for something different but yet at the same time not so odd that you're worried about not enjoying your meal, this is a great place to choose. The service is simple, you order your food and they carry it to your table. It's not immaculate but not dirty. The railroad tracks are next to it so sometimes you may get stuck by a train. Oh, and I forgot, it's priced very reasonably.

This was my favorite place to eat in Mundelein and unfortunately they just recently closed. I did reach out to the owner who told me they plan on reopening in early summer. He said their current format wasn't cutting it. I believe they're going to remodel/rebrand and start up again with a different format. This place had the best burgers in the area. Better than a place like Kuma's Korner IMO. But all the food here was delicious. Hopefully they reopen sooner or later.

Excellent counter service diner with cute decor and friendly staff. Breakfast skillets are created to order (choose 3 meats or veggies, type of cheese, type of potato and cheese sauce or gravy). Patty Melt was incredible!

Best Patty melt I have ever had. I highly recommend this place.

Found a great new place for brunch/lunch. The grilled cheese with bacon and tomatoes went well with Texas toast. The cheese was melted to the right consistency and the bread had a nice crunch. Curly fries cane out hot and crispy. Husband had the gravy train wreck. It was so much food! The gravy was well seasoned and creamy. Diced potatoes and onions were crispy and texture was cooked to perfection. Service was super friendly. They told us about their daily specials and encouraged us to come back. You order when you come in and they bring the food to your table. The dining area is a little small but it's cozy and welcoming. Overall quality food. The cooks take their time preparing but the food comes out piping hot and well made.
