I am assuming that the owner's son took our order. This maybe 11 year old at the counter was perfect combination of fast efficient, careful, polite, and just excellent at order taking. You know it right away when you talk to him.

As someone born and raised in Philly, I don’t say this lightly: The Philly Special in Mundelein, IL serves LEGIT, authentic Philly cheesesteaks just like back home.

Moving to the Chicago area was great… except for one thing, giving up real cheesesteaks. I’ve tried countless places that claim to have “Philly-style” cheesesteaks, and none of them came close. Until I found The Philly Special.
