Don Jose Cantina & Taqueria

Went to Don Jose’s last night for the First of many times. The place looks great! Our server was very attentive and got everything on our order perfect. The cocktails we had were very well done and creative. We started with the Elote fritters which were delicious, sweet with a great crispy exterior paired with the Jalepeno cream was a great start to the meal. My wife got the short rib with a butternut squash and peanut mole which had an incredible depth of flavor. Very nice portion size. I got the Birria which was cooked for 12 hours. It came as 3 tacos with consume to dip the tacos in. Often we are underwhelmed with Birria dining out but this one was really good, great developed flavor and the consume was a little thicker and more flavorful than some other restaurants.
Overall a great experience and we highly recommend for an upscale Mexican dining experience.

I have eaten here twice now. The first time was only their 2nd day open so I did not want to judge it too harshly. I just tried again and I feel the same way. The margaritas are not good. I felt like I was drinking water and tequila. Both times I got different margaritas and they tasted the same Like watered down tequila
The chips are literally dripping wet. They are so greasy. The tacos were very good. I did enjoy the tacos and their salsa is delicious. The servers, both times were kind of blah, and not the best.
I hope they continue to improve. I am rooting for them. As a local business!

Cozy cantina! Large private booths, good amount of seating, full bar. Staff was super courteous, and bus boys were quick to clear dishes. Elote Fritters are a must. Nachos were mountainous. Highly recommend the Casa Migos margarita and Modelo on draft is icy cold. Birria and Al Pastor tacos on point. $15 for a taco dinner with rive and beans is great. Would have been nice to see horchata for a drink option. Bar was very busy, and a couple of townies were a little obnoxious but didn't ruin the atmosphere too much. Will definitely revisit.

Food was a different kind of Mexican food the chips and salsa were good but I ordered the chicken tacos and they were very greasy would not order again and margaritas were 13 dollars and up

What a great, new, fresh restaurant in the area. You start out with the most amazing chips, the food matches with amazing flavors and tastes. I highly recommend Don Jose's.

Brissa was a great waitress. Outside of that, floor was dirty under and around the table, water glasses were dirty, rice and beans seemed like they were out of a box or something. Half the basket of chips was oil and broken pieces. Steak fajitas seemed like a lesser quality of meat(listed skirt steak,definitely did not provide skirt steak). This was our first and last time coming here.

If you like poppy music or dubstep with overpriced food then this is the spot for you. It’s a shame, the place looks nice inside but that’s not what makes me come back.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Superb drinks, delicious and tasty food was excellent.

This was my first visit to Don Jose's. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas, beans, rice, chips and salsa. I also asked if they had a hot sauce. WOW! The enchiladas were amazing!!! The sauce on top was flavorful. The rice and beans were seasoned well. The hot sauce was very spicy, which I liked and the salsa was great. I'll definitely be back!
