First time here in. Bloomington Illinois and happy that we selected Destihl! It was a nice night and we were able to dine in the outside patio with a grand fireplace. Service was great and very patient with us- good friends who had a ton of catch up to do!! She provided suggestions on her favorites from cocktails, entrees and desserts! She never rushed us even though we may have been one of the lasts guests to leave! The dishes were well prepared and delicious! I will return and happy we selected a great restaurant to start a new tradition in Bloomington!

I took Mama here shortly after this place opened some years ago. She loved it, and itâs the place she chose to be this time for her 70th birthday. She had a great time; there was a party of fifteen and we were very well taken care of by the amazing staff. From a chef myself, kudos to the chef here. Consistency, quality, and quality in the food with excellent flavor. According to Mama, âDestihl the place to be!â Keep up the great work.

Menu has a great variety of unique dishes, and the food was fantastic! We had the Ceviche appetizer, gumbo and the seared ahi tuna rice bowl, then shared the limoncello tiramisu. We live a couple of hours away, but plan to make another trip soon for dinner again!

DESTIHL has been on my sonâs list since moving to the area in May. We came here for dinner on Sunday night. The atmosphere inside and out is warm and inviting. It was great weather so opted for outside. Our server Monica N. was absolutely fantastic. So friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Great cocktail, beer and wine options. For starters we had the Bavarian pretzel and the Crab Rangoon dip. Both were delicious. Our entreeâs were the salmon burger and the Vegetable banana curry. My salmon burger was very tasty. My sonâs curry dish was lackluster⌠the curry and vegetables were very bland, but the rice was flavorful. Overall we enjoyed our evening and will be back to sample more of the menu.

I needed beer flights. So we chose Destihl for dinner. For a Saturday in Bloomington/Normal we got in pretty quick after calling ahead. Truly enjoyed my beer selection from Ann our server. Only 1 I didn't enjoy and that was the Redbird. I had the Thai fried chicken which is a shift for many of my orders. It was good. The wife had a bacon cheeseburger and our other diner had the chicken stuffed pasta. Burgers are burgers but I tried the Pasta and it was a good choice. We also had the pretzel and the snack tray. Both good choices. Now for the bad news. They offer huge cake slices. We chose to try the chocolate cake. Best part of the cake was the cream on the side. Cake was dry and still over dense due to being cold.
We stopped by today (10/1/25) for lunch. We were set out on the patio away from the other guests, (presumably because we had a little dog in a stroller? Iâm not sure.).. anywhoâŚwe were set in the end near the in/out gate. That whole area is surrounded by plants. The plants are being overwatered. The plants are infested with âbiting midgeâ.. also known as âno cee umsâ . They bite. They leave welts. I went inside shortly after we had placed our order to let them know that we were getting bitten on the patio. I received somewhat of a blank look with no concern at all. I inquired about another table inside, but we had a small dog with us in a stroller. I was told no I could not bring the dog in. I completely understood. I asked for our food to go and we were served quickly. There were no smiles. No apologies. No communication. Just âŚ.nothing. Maybe he just didnât believe us I donât know. We got her food and I ate it in the parking lot in my car. Not exactly the experience I was looking for, but I didnât feel like getting bitten up all night. My husband left with five âno cee umsâ floating in his drink. I left with bites that have now turned into welts all over my left arm. Yall should really get some fake flowers out there on the patio. Iâm not campingâŚ..Iâm dining out on a patioâŚ..in the city. Please practice insect control. Itâs kind of gross.

Nice variety on the menu. No complaints on the food. Please train your hostess that if the restaurant is mostly empty you really shouldnât sit a 4 top next to the dark bathroom area Which she did a fine Job! Please remind your staff not to cup their hands over the top of the glass where customer drink from.

Desthil is one of the few places my friend with food sensitiveies can eat. Last minute she was in town and we decided to grab early dinner at Desthil. I didnt realize it was high-school homecoming and ISU family weekend. Christopher got us right in despite the rush. Service was wonderful. Thank you Desthil!!

The food was pretty good. The food menu could have more items on it to choose from as well as the drinks menu. Service and atmosphere were great. However, the other location is so close, and it is a bit confusing when viewing online or calling to make reservations.
