Loved this cute shop from the adorable puppy dog logo to the architecture and, of course, the yummy coffee and sweet treats! Knowledgeable and helpful staff helped me order my tiramisu latte to my liking, and the mint chocolate chip ice cream was the best I'd ever tasted. Plus a nice selection of pure cane sugar sodas. Will definitely come back if we visit Starved Rock again!

Comfy cozy vibes. Cauliflower parmesan soup is really good, as is the strawberry chai. Great drip coffee as well ?

My food was bland with one piece of wilted lettuce on it. I waited in line while locals chatted, and while dining in I was served with my food wrapped in plastic. I would say the atmosphere was great and the experience was a let down.
The best Cappucino during our Chicago and surburbans visit! And the best was: Served in a real porcellain cup instead of the usual paper

First Impressions:Coffeehouse that wears many "hats" to stay relevant to locals and visitors of Starved Rock. Many coolers and chalkboard signs for all their offerings. They have tabletop games too, like Connect Four and Tic Tac Toe. "Hats": Pop, Beer, Ice Cream, Coffee, pastries, light lunch options, chips, dog treats, souvenirs (a French word which means, "to remember, come to mind" because if you aren't learning anything from my review at least you still got something), photographs on canvas, postcards, etc.Cost: My family ordered 3 sandwiches, 3 bags of chips, 1 flavored water, a drip coffee, and an Americano. That total brought us to $50. I'm not sure what their overhead is like, and I do appreciate their commitment to repping local businesses (shout out to Avanti in Walnut). I mention it here as it's a consideration for me the next time we come to the area. Value: My roasted veggie panini on sweet potato bread was very small! The veggies were still cold but the cheese was melted a bit. ***I went back to their website to grab a price and see if I need to make any adjustments on my review. No price listed and so no adjustment. Cost not equal to value. Environment: I do enjoy their mix of catering to kids and adults: yet, reconsidering their execution may be beneficial. I'm sure it's challenging to appeal to locals and the hoards of people who come to the area for Starved Rock. Nevertheless, it was clean and the place is naturally bright with their large windows. Final Thoughts: I should've packed a light lunch and hit this place up for a coffee and snack. It's my personal preference to not spend that sort of money on a basic lunch. Yet, they have the market when restaurants at Starved Rock charge $26/person for brunch. Recommendations: Reconfigure your lunch options so that the customer sees value over price. Perhaps including a "side" into the price would help versus paying for the sandwich and the chips separately (I will pay $24.99 for an online item that says free shipping. I probably will not pay $19.99 for the item and $4 in shipping). Also, minimizing your sandwich offerings to top 3-5 sellers would be a great way to reduce cost, increase portion size, and wait time for food.

A cute stop while in Utica. We're locals to the Starved Rock area, and we like to have a little ice cream treat after a long hike! They have a lot of little things and food items for sale.

I got the affagato, and my friend got the strawberry ice cream. Affagato come with honey and hige chocolate chips. Also they have gluten free bread but I wasn't hungry.

Stopped here for sugar and caffeine after hiking. It was a pleasant surprise - large menu, lots of choices, even cortados, which many shops don't do. Got some kiddie scoops for the kids, a mocha for myself, and a flight of fall flavor coffees for my wife and I to share. My wife liked all the flavors - she'd worried they made ght be too sweet, but not the case - and I liked three, particularly caramel apple butter chai. They have sandwiches and alcohol too, so I'd definitely stop here again to try other things. Nice to have this option near the parks, with lots of seating both indoors and out.
