Alice & Friends in Oak Park

Alice and Friends has been one of my favorite restaurants ever since they had just their original Edgewater location, and it's been exciting to see them grow to three locations! I recently moved to the area, so I'm grateful to have one close to home. Their staff is always genuinely kind and welcoming, and this location is conveniently right next to the train.

I'm not ashamed to admit I've nearly worked my way through the entire menu, and everything has been consistently incredible. You really can't go wrong with anything you order. My personal favorite is the Roasted Sesame Miso Ramen—it's absolutely delicious and one of those dishes I find myself craving again and again. Don't forget dessert, especially if they've got tiramisu!

The food is delicious and definitely worth trying! My favorite dish is the Tonkatsu Ramen, but unfortunately, they often forget to include the actual Tonkatsu (aka veggie bacon) when you order it, so be wary of the frequent mistakes. I have had this happen at both locations.

We absolutely loved the pho! It tasted just like the traditional pho we had hoped for and we even added the unusual veggie meat. Cheesecake was also top notch. Loved the Thai iced tea. Our only regret of our short stay in Chicago was not getting back there to try more delicious vegan food!

The Bahn Mi! So good. I've only been here twice. Maybe now that I've had the Bahn Mi both times I can branch out and try something else. Maybe.

Loved it! I don’t really eat in vegan restaurants but tried Alice and friends. Absolutely delicious!! Nash is the best waiter too.

I used to frequent the original location and love that another one is much closer to my house. I live for the delicious bahn mi. It's so well done and juicy and filled. Other places I've gone to are such sad sandwiches. No one compares to yours!!!!!! It's seasoned to perfection and the bread is always perfectly crunchy too. Please never change 🤎

Jo Jo and the staff are what keeps us coming back a not to mention all the vegan goodies on the menu. The corn chowder is phenomenal and we love the ube buns!!!

We tried the banh mi and the fettuccine alfredo. We both loved the banh mi, and one of us enjoyed the fettuccine (I found it a bit plain and dry — not enough sauce). Updated from previous review on 2026-04-15

I’ve been to the north side location a few times before they opened in oak park and have loved their Kung pao and desserts and soups. I miss the Kung pao at this location but I have found some great substitutes. The fettuccine Alfredo is one of, if not my favorite , entree. I ordered the tonkatsu soup with the bakn and it is very good! I’m ready to try the pho and the new pasta dish. Everything is good at Alice and friends. Im glad they’re closer to me now!!

Delicious vegan food. My favorite dish is the laksa- warm, comforting, and so tasty! Don't forget to grab a delicious dessert too.
