People were so COOL!

For being in the middle of nowhere Illinois, this place brought top notch flavorful cuisine. Bringing in inspiration from Asia and Latin America, you would pay double for this in Chicago. Servers were nice. Classic dive bar vibes. Don’t be shocked by the naked women posters plastered by the bathroom 🙈. Must try this place!

The chorizo Burger was great. There was a cool biker gang leaving when I walked in.

Best bar I’ve been to in the area. They are super nice to my dog Gustavo. Make sure you get a cocktail and don’t miss on the food. What a gem!

Shockingly good food all around - the menu constantly changes, but its going to be a true culinary pleasure no matter what it is. The chef masterfully blends flavors across several cultural backgrounds into completely new and amazing experiences. The drinks are equally awesome, especially the carajillo, which takes the Spanish expresso and rum drink and mixes it up with Brazilian cachaça and Indian spices and puts it over ice. My kids loved the ribs and the sweet potato/chickpea/curry(?) open faced sandwich, my wife a truly authentic take on a Cubano. Unfortunately for me my spiced lamb po boy was doused in salt, but I could still tell that under it all were some astonishing flavor combinations. The decor is still dive bar (parents be forewarned there is some nudity), but it adds to the contrasting theme of the place, clashing with the high-end big city food for a very reasonable price - you'd pay twice as much anywhere else. The service was amazing considering Lily was running all the tables and the bar by herself, she could use some help. Now I wish we had come here last year, and we'll definitely be back when we come back to Illinois next year. My hope is that it's still here, but once this chef/bartender pair gets discovered, who knows? Stop in while you can!

This might be the most delicious food in the most unlikely place! I don't own the words to properly express how delicious this food is, so go try it, and it will bring you food joy as well!

We were turned onto this place by our BnB host. She said the food was fantastic. We didn't end up eating there but it smelled and looked delicious. Menu is creative, eclectic and limited... whatever the chef dreams up. What we did do was spend 2 hours at the bar with a wonderful and knowledgeable bartender who had traveled extensively in Jalisco. This place has one of the best selection of delicuous tequilas we have ever seen, many we hadn't heard of. What a great afternoon in the middle of nowhere.

I rarely go out to dinner within 30 minutes of my home and am thrilled with my experience. This is one of the exceptions! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. There were 3 options available for so we order one of each. The first was an appetizer that was shishito peppers which had just the right amount of seasoning and salt. So good. Then we had pork and beef ramen. So delicious. The broth was rich and perfectly seasoned. The eggs were cooked just right. I absolutely love it when I am served food that was prepared by someone who gives a shit. It was perfect. Also, the classic margaritas was fresh and not fake. Nailed it. We'll be back- often.

Hidden Treasure of Fresh Flavors in Dive Bar Disguise

In the world of dive bars, this place defies all expectations. Walking in, you’re greeted by a well-worn bar, a jukebox that gets as much attention as the bartenders, and a crowd that looks refreshingly low-key. It has all the hallmarks of a classic dive, but behind the scenes, there’s something entirely different going on: five-star food and drinks, made from scratch.

Let’s start with the cocktails. These aren’t your standard dive bar pours. Every drink here feels like it’s been crafted with care, using fresh-squeezed juices, house-made syrups, and a dash of creativity that takes them to another level. You can taste the difference, and it’s worth every cent.

The food is equally surprising. Far from the usual bar snacks, the menu offers dishes with ingredients as fresh as the drinks. The kitchen’s commitment to fresh ingredients and from-scratch prep is clear with every bite, and it feels like you’re dining at a high-end bistro instead of a low-lit bar.

The crowd and the staff keep it grounded, with regulars who appreciate quality, and bartenders who know how to balance a smile with a shot pour. This bar is a rare find: the comfort and authenticity of a dive with the quality of a high-end joint. If you want fresh flavors without the fuss, and an atmosphere where you can still just relax, this place is a must-visit.

follow them on Facebook to see what fresh dishes and drinks they will be serving. That’s how we found them.
