Pop's Italian Beef & Sausage

Husband and I both had the beef sandwich with mozzarella cheese, fries with cheese on the side, and two small drinks. Absolutely delicious—everything tasted fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The beef was tender, the bread was soft with a slight crisp on the outside, and the melted mozzarella was the perfect addition. The fries were crispy, and the cheese sauce paired with them really completed the meal.

The ordering process was simple since you place your order at the counter and then wait for your food. Even though there were several people ahead of us, our food came out surprisingly fast. The employees were polite, organized, and kept everything moving efficiently. The restaurant itself was spotless, and the dining area was well maintained.

The tables were clean, the floors looked freshly mopped, and the condiment station was fully stocked. The atmosphere was relaxed, making it an enjoyable place to sit down for lunch. The staff also checked the dining room regularly to keep everything tidy.

The sandwiches were generously filled, and every bite was flavorful. The ingredients tasted fresh rather than processed. The mozzarella was perfectly melted and complemented the beef without overpowering it. The fries were cooked just right—not greasy and nicely seasoned. Even the fountain drinks tasted fresh, which isn't always the case at every restaurant.

One thing I really appreciated was how quickly the kitchen worked without sacrificing quality. The presentation of the food was simple but appealing. Everything arrived hot, exactly as ordered, and nothing was missing.

My only complaint is still the price. Our meal came to around $27, which feels pretty expensive for what is essentially a casual lunch. I understand that food costs have increased everywhere over the past few years, so I'm not necessarily blaming this restaurant. It's just becoming harder to justify eating out as often as we used to.

We aren't people who normally complain about spending money on good food. In fact, we're happy to pay more when the quality is there. This meal definitely delivered on taste, but the overall cost still caught us by surprise. It makes dining out feel like more of a special occasion than an everyday option.

Despite the higher price, we both finished our meals completely because everything was so good. I would gladly order the beef sandwich again on a future visit. I'd also like to try some of the other menu items because this experience left a great first impression. The restaurant clearly cares about food quality and cleanliness. Customer service was friendly from start to finish. Overall, we had an excellent lunch and left satisfied. If prices were just a little lower, this place would easily become one of our regular lunch spots. Even with the higher cost, I'd still recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious sandwich and a clean, welcoming restaurant.

I come to this Pops location even though other Pops locations are closer to my house. I find the quality at this location to be right on target every time, and the people are always great................ someone needs to make a move and fix the horrendous parking lot, just sayin'........ love you guys!

Please eat anywhere else & save yourself days of agony. I got vicious food poisoning 2 days ago, we called to let the manager know, and he said “what do you want from me? This is the first call about this so they’re would’ve been more calls hahaha” basically telling us that we’re lying, all we wanted was money out of him, when we were just calling to let them know to clean up their nasty restaurant. Everything was just filthy. But food poisoning is one of the worst things I’ve ever been thru, and when we called the Cook County Health Department, they completely agreed.

We have been going to pop's for years. Never a problem with the food. Till the middle of 2025. The pop's on 127th harlem we have gotten fries that are old and stale 3 times. Now we went to pop's at 143rd wolf rd. Same thing. Stale old fries. Do they think the fries last forever. This ends me going to pop's anymore.

Walked in at 745 pm. We were told that they were closing and could not order even take out. Im done, how disappointing, companies wonder why we will not be going back.

Fries were missing from the order. $4.89 missing

This spot on Wolf is a total joke. Overpriced trash with mediocre food. The chicken sandwich was sad, the gyro had barely any meat at all, and the chili cheese dog was straight-up inedible. The service? Like you’re annoying them just by showing up. They seriously need to take notes from Pops in Palos Heights because this place is a huge disappointment. Don’t waste your time or money here.
