One year ago I would have given beyond a 5 star review but this experience was subpar. We chose Bluegills in Ottawa for Father’s Day dinner, and we honestly wish we hadn’t. From the moment we sat down, our server Shannon S. made us feel unwelcome and judged, especially when our son and his girlfriend ordered water instead of soda or alcohol.
As someone who’s been a server in the past and currently working in a sales environment, I know what excellent service and an excellent customer experience looks like, and this was far from it. The food was good but there was limited selection compared to 1 year ago when we were there, but the poor service really made the experience awful.
It’s a shame, because we wanted a nice meal to celebrate, and instead we left feeling disappointed and disrespected. I hope management addresses these issues for future guests.

Would not recommend this place at all....no air conditioning and flies are everywhere. Was there two times and couldn't keep the flies away from me..waited forever for my order both times and the food was fair. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

First time here and it was amazing! Shannon, our bartender, was great! She recommended the shrimp so we got that.. it didn’t disappoint! We also got the pretzel bites & mini burgers. YUM!

My husband and our friends went on a road trip to Ottawa. We were looking for places to eat so we tried it out. The service was amazing and the food was excellent. They played a variety of music on the juke box and the prices were good for the great food we had. I had the pulled pork with the arugula salad with pickled green onions. The fries were to die for. If I'm ever back in Ottawa again, I'm going back.

I want to give a big shout out to our server Addie! Today was my first experience and I will definitely be back! Addie provided excellent service and amazing recommendations, the blackened grouper sandwich for the win! My taste buds were very happy!

We had an amazing experience at Bluegill Boathouse & Marina Bar! The food was absolutely delicious — we tried the Bahama Buffalo wings (so flavorful with the perfect kick), the baked goat cheese (a must-have!), and a fresh side salad topped with their homemade blueberry dressing, which was such a unique and tasty touch.

The spicy margaritas were another highlight — infused with cucumber tequila and served with a tajin rim, they were super refreshing and had just the right amount of heat.

We sat outside overlooking the boats at the marina, which made for a beautiful and relaxing setting. Shawna was our server and she was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome.

Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend this spot for great food, drinks, and views!
