While this is an older version of a Kroger store (Kroger took over when the previous tenant [Eagle grocery store] closed down) and has relatively few of the "Superstore" features of Kroger's newest locations, it is happily missing the impersonal coldness of many newer stores of any grocery chain. Kroger is the best grocery store in Ottawa. They have sales that are almost always going on and the prices are almost always better than what you would get at Walmart. The service is always exceptional and the workers are always helpful and happy to help. The butcher is great and the bakery is amazing. I will only drive to Walmart if I have to. This Kroger will have my business forever!

While visiting Starved Rock, we had to stop in here multiple times. We were able to find almost everything we wanted and service was really friendly. It's not the hugest or most well stocked store I've been to, but it had the basics and came in clutch where we needed it.Major thank you to the employee who let us in right before store closing to buy some basic first aid items to tend to an injury - very appreciated!
