I reserved a table for 6 pm on a Saturday night. The Saturday after valentines day so I expected the place to be packed. I walked in greeted by a shy young woman and told her our reservation then looked around to see only 1 table with people at it. So she sat us down right away and after some time brought us our bread which was fresh and warm. Even with no one in the restaurant it still took a decent amount of time to have someone come to take our order which we didn't mind as we spent it looking over all the options on the menu and enjoying each other's company but if you are looking for fast paced happy servers this is not the place. I ordered a cream of spinach soup and my significant other ordered a salad. The salad was a pile of lettuce with a decent helping of dressing. The soup looked good but tasted like absolutely nothing. Not a single hint of any seasoning, salt, or anything. So we moved on to our main course. I had fettuccine alfredo and my significant other got cheese ravioli. Relatively simple dishes on the safe side. My pasta was again as bland as anything I'd ever tasted. It also had only semi-melted cheese in the sauce which would leave strings that would occasionally get caught in my throat. My significant other also agreed that their ravioli was very bland and decided not to finish their meal. Toward the end of us being there, business started to pick up and the place started to fill up. They seemed very understaffed only having 1 woman taking orders and billing people out while the other 2 teens cleared people's tables. It took us a while to finally get our check after we finished our meals. The lady was doing the best she could running around to cater to all their guests so I don't blame her but it definitely seems they need more staff. The music was chill yet upbeat leaving a nice ambiance to the place. It definitely seemed like a place that regulars go to and have a good relationship with the staff but not the romantic classy dinner date place I was looking for.

Wow! We were in the area to run an errand, and found this spot thanks to other reviews. After this experience, I can't wait to have more "errands" to run in Palatine! The food and the service were both spectacular. A very low-key location, but 5-star all around.

Tried Garsillo's last night along with some friends. Food and service were great, and the prices very reasonable. And the pasta is made in-house. We will be back!

Decent Italian, but I didn't enjoy it enough to want to come back. The best part was the fresh hot bread brought to the table before our meals. Our entrees were basic meals that I feel like I could have prepared at home, nothing special. The veal in my eentrée was supposed to be breaded, but it wasn't. Pizza was good, but not great. Mediocre italian restaurant.

Garsillos never disappoints us ! Gar (owner and chef) is amazing and the food is always top notch...especially his homemade pastas ! It's a comfortable "store front" atmosphere an probably the best kept secret in the NW Chicago suburbs!

My boyfriend and I met up here for a nice weeknight dinner. There are many wine options, and we enjoyed a reasonably-priced bottle of Chianti (no favs beans this time!). The menu has some standard American-Italian fare, but also some interesting selections for the more adventurous. Before our meal, we enjoyed some of the fresh bread rolls that are much nicer than the stale baguette many Italian places serve. The owner is super friendly made a point to chat with us, even showing us his pasta making machine! Although I've been focusing on lower carb meals (I enjoyed the sautéed spinach and meatballs for dinner), I would like to try one of the house-made pastas next time.

Love Chef Gar food. Miss this place since they moved from Hoffman Estates location. He made everything from scratch. My favorite is the Chicken a parmigiana. Today I tried Chicken Cacciatore , was yummy ?. I had the tiramisu to go. By the way my son brought me for Mother’s Day tiramisu from Chef Gar. And it’s so creamy and well made. You can order for special occasions too.
