If you're boujee this isn't the spot for you. If you like strong drinks at a great price, bar food, darts, pool and good music then this is the best spot in Palatine.

Honestly pretty horrible spot, terrible service (bartenders are just so rude), and the vibe is horrible. Sorry. Been here at like 7+ times, hoping each time would be better, but is just awful lol

I came in here with a friend who didn’t have an id and he was Indian and didn’t consume alcohol. It was mid day and got terrible service from the bar tender and she treated me very poorly thinking I was slinging him shots on the side. I tried to let her know he does not drink it’s against his religion, can he sit here and watch the game with us? And she said yes. We were with other friends and she continued to investigate me and hunt me down, whilst they treated the regulars with a ton of respect… not coming back, very rude.

By far one of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I watched the bartender observe how me and my family were being talked negatively by a customer and his friends. The bartender chose them cause they are the *regulars*. Very bad taste will not be coming back.

I have came here 3 times and had the worst time. the bartenders don’t care, they have their favorites and on top of that the bartenders are little brats There’s so many bars downtown palatine, don’t bother with this place. Literally go across the train tracks to a better bar.

They had chili on special but it was not good. It was 5.50 for a bowl and it was barely as good as a can of Hormel. The bartender was a bit of an airhead and forgot my friends chili order twice. Good atmosphere though, pool, darts, and slot machines.
I'll never go back to this place again. Door man/ bartender can't even recognize a real ID lol. Carded us at the door. Im well over 21. And he insists our ID was fake ? He was rude and tried to over compensate for his lack of intelligence. No thanks. We were here a few weeks ago and didnt even get carded. That time, food was horrible but stayed for drinks in which we spent alot and tipped even better....My friends and I will never give this business another dime. This dump is a big pass!!

Wow. I absolutely love TJ O'Brien's. I went there on a Wednesday afternoon for a quick drink before my dinner date. Service was very fast and the bartender was nice. I always appreciate a bartender that's willing to have a genuine conversation and crack a few jokes (shout out Jaclyn!). Other bar patrons were friendly and made it feel like a home away from home. I can't recommend this spot enough if you're looking for a drink in downtown palatine!
