Tried the Tava Fish Fry, Chicken 65 Biryani, and Mysore Masala Dosa. All items were quite good overall. A couple of minor points: the biryani would benefit from a saalna or gravy accompaniment, and the masala coating on the tava fish fry felt slightly thick or caked on. Otherwise, enjoyable meal.
This restaurant has such a cozy and charming atmosphere! From the moment you walk in, you feel right at home. The warm lighting, rustic decor, and comfortable seating make it an ideal place for a relaxed meal.I felt being in South Indian after having food here especially the non veg items.
Yes i was badly searching for an Indian restaurant in Chicago and ended up coming here. Thanks for the Google. The biriyani was very authentic especially the aroma and meat was perfectly cooked.
The service person also spoke in my native language tamil and made me much more comfortable in choosing what I want.will be right there whenever i am in Chicago.
It has been a while that I sat in an Indian restaurant and said wow with my first bite. I guess it’s mainly because after eating Indian food for years all over the world there isn’t a lot that surprises me with Indian cuisine. secondly, I wasn’t expecting this experience to be in park ridge of all the places but it just happens to be that I came to illinois with a true Indian food lover who introduced me to this wonderful place called Mughal
Then I had chicken fried rice at a lot of places, including the Chinese restaurants that this dish actually belongs to but these guys did an amazing job at the Indian Chinese fusion, as they say in America they hit it out of the park. The paneer Tikka masala was soft and made nicely. The medium spicy chilly Paneer was hot and delicious but the star of the night for me was chicken fried rice with an Indian kick.
Second night a delicious glass for mango lassi accompanied by chicken 65 , chicken curry made my night.
I must also mention the wonderful, very attentive, very supportive and professional customer service here, for the first two nights we had the pleasure of our server who not only provided service with the smile but guided us through the amazing menu with wonderful suggestions.
Great vibes. Entire staff is phenomenal. Food is amazing. They have BYOB which becomes cherry on the cake. I drive 1 hour just to eat from this place and it is worth it.
Ordered one masala dosa and egg biryani, dosa was good but the biryani, it would been better. It seems like they served veg pulav.
I went with huge expectations. I ordered egg biryani and it’s horrible. I threw it away.
Delicious South Indian biriyani with rich flavors and perfect spice. The rice was aromatic, and the meat was tender and well-cooked. Good service and a nice, clean place to enjoy a hearty meal. A must-try for biriyani lovers!
The name "Mughal" is a misnomer -- there are no mughalai / tandoori dishes. They do serve good south indian dishes
We went for lunch on a Sunday morning so it was fairly quiet. The food was good. Wait staff was very nice. I plan to come again. My only suggestion is to change the information on the menu. The menu just lists the dish names. There is no description on what is in the dish. If you are not familiar with Indian food you will have no idea what's what. And even if you are somewhat familiar there are so many regions in India that there are so many different regional dishes that there is a good chance you will not know what half the dishes listed are. It also doesn't state what is included with the entree (rice, naan, etc). If you updated the menu with descriptions and details it would be super helpful.

Absolutely wonderful experience at this local restaurant in Park Ridge! Everything from the food to the service in ambience was fantastic. You can tell the chef uses quality high end ingredients because the food was very fresh and clean tasting.
I love this restaurant! The flavors are so delicious. From start to finish. We even tried the dessert. I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter is so charming , Jay , he was very patient describing all of the dishes we tried. Can't wait to return.
Had a fantastic meal at Mughal! Ordered the chicken tikka masala, naan bread, coconut milk fish curry, samosa, and chili shrimp and let me tell you, those shrimps were absolutely incredible. Perfectly crispy, full of bold flavors, and easily the standout of the meal. Everything else was delicious as well, with rich, well-balanced spices in both the tikka masala and the king fish curry. The service was great—attentive without being overbearing. The total pre-tip was 77 which felt reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The menu looked amazing, and there's so much more I want to try. Definitely planning to come back
Mughal is absolutely fantastic! I can't recommend this place highly enough. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was exceptional. The service and atmosphere were just as impressive.
Awesome food, cool restaurant, modern interior, but limited number of tables. Table design could be better, base was square with no space for feet underneath the table. Would recommend checking it out. Plus free garage parking in Park Ridge!
