Great atmosphere with an amazing menu for food and drinks. A good place to catch up with friends or taking your +1 for a special night.

I have an extreme MSG allergy and made sure to let the server know. I was informed that their chicken base is from a third party and it contains MSG. They said that the chicken base with MSG is used in all the veal, chicken, and potatoe dishes. It is surprising that a restaurant of this caliber does not make their own chicken stock. I was told the grilled lamb would be OK for me to have. When my dinner was brought out, the lamb chops were placed over the potatoes which I was told I shouldn't have. When I pointed this out they took the dish back and placed the 4 same lamb chops on a blank plate. Very disappointing that they were so nonchalant about a dangerous situation. Overall the food was underwhelming for the price we paid. The best part of the meal was the old fashion and martini from the bar. I may go back for drinks at the bar but not to eat.

My boyfriend and I recently moved from Chicago and were excited to try this place for our anniversary dinner, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had.
Service started off slow—we waited about 10 minutes before even receiving menus or water. Bread came with an unannounced eggplant spread (not butter), which wasn’t appealing. Our waitresses were polite but didn’t offer any recommendations despite it being our first visit.

We ordered the calamari, which tasted frozen and was mostly breading. I had the veal, which came with an odd cornmeal side and was also mostly breading with little actual meat. My boyfriend had the veal as well and couldn’t finish it—it just didn’t taste good. We were also convinced to try a side of asparagus, which turned out to be overly salty and inedible. I also ordered a salad, but the lettuce tasted like it came straight from the Walmart next door—mostly stems and no dressing—so I didn’t finish that either. The only redeeming part of the meal was the dessert.

While I did mention my dissatisfaction with my dish (and it was kindly removed from the bill), we left disappointed. The ambiance is nice, but the food simply doesn’t deliver. The location—oddly tucked next to a Walmart—adds to the overall underwhelming vibe.

Sadly, less than 24 hours later, we also experienced some digestive issues from the meal. I WOULDN'T recommend this place for a special occasion—or at all.

My wife and I dined here with two other couples. We ordered a range of dinners, including pastas and steaks. Simply put, everything from food to service to atmosphere was outstanding.

My and my girlfriend love this place. We come whenever we get the chance. My only complaint is the front desk. I called and reserved a 4 top. I told the reception that it was a special occasion, i wanted to be seated next to my GF and did not want a 2 top. I told her i was literally flying in all the way from Florida just to come there with her. They chsnged us to a 2 top when we got there. We seen other couples at a 4 top and it really upset me. It totally ruined my night. The service and food is always wonderful. But the front staff ruined our date night tbh. The 2nd time at that. For new years I also flew in from Florida just to dine here and they stuck us at a side table with heavy traffic. I really get the impression the from desk doesnt really care.

Connected is the closest thing you'll find to a high-end Chicago Italian restaurant down state.

Terrific food, service & ambiance. The staff and owner all go above and beyond. You can feel the love and attention to detail in everything they do. Highly recommended!

This place is so charming! Very nice high end Italian, the mushroom salad was delectable and the eggplant spread is so subtle it was one of my favorite parts of dinner. It was really nice being in a fully staffed restaurant again, multiple staff members checked in on us. Everyone was knowledgeable and friendly and clearly cared a lot about their job. The decor and ambiance transports you to a magic storybook street scene and was so lovely to dine in. A clearly well-loved and cared for part of the Peoria restaurant scene!
