A Shout-Out to Courtney at Childers Eatery
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Childers Eatery, 3312 N. University St., Peoria. We shared omelets with hashbrowns—fluffy omelets with flavorful fillings and crispy hashbrowns.
Courtney’s warm, attentive service was the standout. She made excellent menu recommendations, and her Tea Steeper for my wife’s tea was both charming and functional. We loved it so much we bought two.

We recently hosted a memorial luncheon at the Gateway Building and were blown away by the service, food, and beauty of the venue space. We worked with Leylan during our relatively short planning period— she was incredibly kind, prompt, and helpful in working out all of the details on such short notice. Childers recently catered a funeral luncheon for a family member. Such an event is planned with little lead time, thus the catering staff needed to respond quickly and efficiently. They were ready and able to accommodate our needs beautifully. Although the luncheon was staffed by only one of Childers employees, she was more than capable and was wonderful to work with. Our thanks to Childers and our server Courtney for a job well done!

Many guests have praised the presentation and high quality of the dishes, including the famous chicken and dishes like chicken and dumplings. The staff is attentive, upbeat, and willing to go the extra mile to make each event special. They managed to provide high-quality food at an affordable price, impressing clients and guests alike. While there were some minor issues with contract details and desserts before, the staff quickly addressed them to ensure everything was perfect. Overall, the experience is consistently amazing, and many look forward to using Childers again in the future.
