My husband and I attended the Winter Solstice December 14th coming in from Springfield. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The building is so beautiful. The event was very well run. We loved all of the heavy hors d'oeuvures and desserts (my husband kept going back for the cream puffs) and walking around exploring the building. Great buffet and plenty of space for children to play!
We were celebrating our anniversary and were looking forward to a nice dinner out. We were not aware that they had lost their chef and were only serving starters. We had driven 25 miles and were hungry. The restaurant is beautiful but noisy. Our server was apologetic but the experience was disappointing nonetheless. The reservation site asked if we were celebrating an event. We said yes. It was not recognized. We probably won't go back.
Broadgauge offers a limited brunch selection, with fresh and beautifully presented food. Dishes like cheddar jalapeno soup, walleye, barbecue brisket, and tiramisu are highly recommended. The building is beautiful and provides a very big and open spot for guests. The service is excellent, and the Bloody Mary stands out. While some dishes like NY Strip steak and loaded baker impressed, others like halibut were a bit dry. The menu changes frequently, offering interesting choices, but some favorites like orange crème brûlée may not always be available. Prices are a bit high, but the quality of food justifies it. Customers have enjoyed the Jimmy Stick's hot chicken sandwich and the Caesar salad with chicken, praising their great flavors and portion sizes. Broadgauge is a wonderful spot for events, with a well-run atmosphere and enjoyable music that allows for good conversations. Guests look forward to returning for future meals and events.
