The Talisman Reviews
Anyplace that makes croissants gets my utmost respect. Absolutely delicious. We WILL be back.
Loved the quiet atomsphere, very clean, cinnamon roll so big and hot and fresh, coffee was delicious.
We were celebrating our anniversary and were looking forward to a nice dinner out. We were not aware that they had lost their chef and were only serving starters. We had driven 25 miles and were hungry. The restaurant is beautiful but noisy. Our server was apologetic but the experience was disappointing nonetheless. The reservation site asked if we were celebrating an event. We said yes. It was not recognized. We probably won't go back.
The Talisman, also known as Broadgauge, is a beautiful restaurant that offers a variety of food options. The menu recently shifted to a small plates format, which includes items like vegetable egg rolls, ribeye ponyshoe, and the delightful beer cheese soup. The cheddar jalapeno soup, walleye, barbecue brisket, and tiramisu remain notable favorites. While some diners previously enjoyed the NY Strip steak, loaded baker, pork chop, and chimichurri sauce, recent changes have made the dining experience different from what regulars might expect. Although the service and drinks continue to meet high standards, the restaurant can be noisy and pricier than anticipated. Some guests were disappointed by the limited offerings due to a recent chef change, but the food is still fresh, well-presented, and tasty. The brunch selection is limited, and an omelet station is missing. Despite these challenges, many guests remain hopeful for the future and look forward to returning.
