“A nightclub in the middle of Harvey. And...it...was....bumpin!!!! On a Thursday!!! Just wow!!! The bar inside is fairly small but well appointed. Since it s summer? They had 3 huge tents...and a great sou d system. It was not only loud? But clear. You could hear the music clearly and the lyrics were clearly discernable from several blocks out. Wow Smittys!!! You are winning!!!
The security was also excellent. With the sidewalks all blocked off......with horses and tape and rope. Done well. Bumpin in Harvey!!! If u want a black owned nightclub? With great music? Atmosphere? Vibe? With young AND grown people? You ve found it!!!!
I only gave the food the rating I did because I didn't have any. When I do? I ll add to the review.

“When heading towards Beverly for a property management home inspection, I wanted to find a local coffee joint that I could get a coffee and a snack of some sort. Afro Joe's was calling to me. Walking in, greeted warmly, the adventure began. If you haven't been, check the menu before you go because you will want to order one of each item! Since it was my first time, most certainly NOT the last, I needed a lifeline. Charmaine to the rescue. I don't know if I manifested or she read my mind , but when I asked which sandwich I should order instantly , she said the short rib! Boom! Done. Next up, a drink choice. Again I was not led astray. The option was a blueberry lavender cold brew topped with rose cold foam. As she was suggesting the option, Charmaine lifted the one she was drinking and again instantly sold. No chocolate croissant available since it was later in the morning but the chocolate morning roll was there and three for three, the order was placed. I already know that I have to come back, time and time again.Just walking in such a chill vibe , perfect music, everyone tables either working or chatting with a friend. The open kitchen invites you to see the hustle and bustle. The garage doors roll up onto the patio for warmer days and what appears to be local art work adorns the walls. When I tell you, this is absolutely no exaggeration, every item was on point! The short rib was so flavor forward eith the bite of picked onions, there was a side of diced pickles and onions too. Also a hit. The warm bun had some fruit nestled in its chocolatey tummy, flakes and moist with the richness of cocoa. And for the latte, cold, sweet and the flavors all complimented each other so well. I did opt for whole milk because, why not?!? I had one too many client emails and texts to be able to enjoy grabbing a book from the shelf but note, they even had the sharpest of colored pencils to doodle or write a note with. I have not one complaint, well, maybe one, I wish they were in my neighborhood because this would be a staple place to visit regularly! Until we meet again and I can get my hands on a chocolate croissant next...or any one of the other of their baked goods. Support your Local Black Owned Businesses!”

“My husband and I went for dinner in restaurant and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious, and the best part was that the chef Sergio sent us a dessert he had created that day. “In 2017, I picked up my older brother at Midway to come home to the funeral of our youngest brother that committed suicide at 23 yers old. We swung over to Vito and Nick's to get a pizza and talk. It was our first time there. We ended up telling the waitress the situation because we had both been crying. Next thing we know, the kitchen had par-baked like 8 large pizzas of all types, and gave us a hand-written note giving us condolences and instructions on how to finish baking the pizzas. They said they wanted to make sure my family was well-fed in our time of tragedy ❤ And the pizza is INCREDIBLE ❤ SPECIAL, SPECIAL PLACE”

“Doug was patient, cordial, very attentive. My mom, 96, has not been out for a meal in 5 yrs. Doug made this a pleasant experience for the 4 of us. Comfortable sitting, great comfortable noise level, not crowded sitting( we had a wheelchair), food excellent. Pork shoulder outstanding. No stickiness on anything. Best day/meal ever! Thank u Doug”

The way Amina and the rest of the staff recognize us it’s just so heartwarming, they make us feel like family. We are so happy when we’re here and leave even happier with a full belly. “As I had recently arrived from Denver, CO to pay my brother a visit. He treated me by taking me to the King of Falafel & Shawarma. The cook/cashier took our order; falafels with hummus and a mixed dish with rice and various meats (the Junior). I cannot stress enough the delicious flavors of every single food I put in my mouth. I was saddened to realize that I would have to go back home and not enjoy this food on a regular basis. So on my last day of vacationing, I went back and ordered numerous amounts of those delicious dishes, which I was able to take back on the flight and ultimately freeze for later enjoyment. I highly recommend this restaurant. Because aside from the delicious food, the staff were very courteous, warm and inviting. 5 stars out of 5!”

“Was recommended this restaurant from a friend. The maple tree and did not disappoint. Made a reservation online easy. Their menu is awesome, simple and delicious. Crab cake was perfect! Our dinner was fantastic. We had trout and shrimp. They have the best banana pudding over crème brûlée. The coffee for an end cap was out of this world good!”

“Finally made it out to Tea+Poke and I’m legit sad it took me that long to get there. The people are kind, the environment is welcoming, and the food is absolutely delicious. The pineapple passion fruit tea was the icing on the cake. I couldn’t decide what to get because TBH the entire menu looks delicious. Staff recommended the Korean Beef Short Rib bowl and an I added an orange chicken bowl as well. Both were winners. So much so, I’ll definitely be back to eat and drink my way through the menu.
