“Decided to give this place a go...wasn't bad at all this was my first time trying Irish food and it didn't disappoint....The mules were the best I've ever had and the fish and chips I highly suggest!!! We tried three appetizers and the Ruben bites were my favorite they were very cheesy and I've never had scotch eggs so we decided to try them...I wasn't a very big fan.. we also got the potato skins with corned beef and sauerkraut those were very good as well!! I tried the pork cutlet sandwich and it was disappointing..everything on it was over cooked!! The house made chips made up for it ! The inside of the restaurant was very very big!!! I would come here again and probably get different things just to try !!!“

“I love McBrides. It is a solid restaurant/ bar that is always clean. The outdoor patio with real palm trees and the little globe string lights in the summer, is super inviting.The food is always hot and I don’t think there is a bad dish on the menu. I love their hamburgers in particular. They are always stacked with the freshest vegetables.The iceberg lettuce chunk is always crisp and fresh as it is served not like the old precut junk at a lot of other places. Also note that I said chunk, not leaf. This alone adds flavor and a nice texture to the burger.There is also a full large red onion slice, not rings…..an entire (thin) slice. You can break it up or leave it as is to guarantee a crispy and not over bearing onion flavor throughout your burger.The pickles almost feel homemade. They are not old and mushy and have a solid presence on the burger.The bun is huge, slightly sweet, and toastedThe meat patty is flavorful and always sizzling hot and juicy. My only beef with this burger is that it needs a little seasoning. So, I add salt and pepper, as I add ketchup and mustard.When this monster of a burger is finally assembled, it is 5-6” tall and ginormous burger will please any traditional burger fan on the planet, guaranteed. Now, after all this is said about the burger, don’t forget about the larger than large quantity of crispy hot crinkle fries that accompanies it. There are other options available for a slight up charge, too. If you are a tator tot fan or prefer freshly steamed vegetables for a larger low carb meal, this is the place to be.Omg. I have not ordered it myself in quite a while, but my son always does…..try the Cajun chicken pasta with garlic bread dish. It is a tad rich but the flavor is consistent and good. Again, freshly grilled chicken is added on top of the hot pasta.I will add more to this post when I have the rib eye steak sandwich. It is insanely good and juicy. The steak is always freshly grilled with all the charred line markings and served hot on french bread.McBrides always has fresh and consistent quality food. It certainly does not disappoint.“

“They always have good and creative twists on classics. Without a doubt they have the best soups around chicken noodle, creamy Ruben, or creamy chicken and rice are a few of my favorites. You gotta try the twisted turkey sandwich, it's like Thanksgiving on a bun.Kid-friendliness: Kids are always welcome and they have a good kids menu too.“

Robin is one of the kindest and best servers I have ever met, and Jonas does wonders with the food and both of them are absolute sweethearts. If you want to go to a bar in Naperville that feels nothing like a bar in Naperville, filled with real, down to earth people, look no further. There's delicious food, delicious drinks, and all at an affordable price. If you want something reminiscent of Cheers, come on down. Great brats, chili, reubens and patty melts. And if you don't know what drink you want just ask Robin to surprise you with something fun and she certainly will. I recommend this bar to everyone.“

“Love dive bars! Had the 5 dollar burger. Was decent. Bartender was super sweet. First round of beers was flat so they swapped out the keg for us right away? Still light beers need to be super cold IMHO. I'll go back i think. ?Oh one more thing for the management. You need to do awesome fries or do bags of chips instead.“

“Friendly atmosphere and good food , fast service. we asked for gluten free food and they knew what it was! When I visit Joliet to meet with my good friend, we always stop at Vela's for lunch. Is it the good food? Yes! Is it the friendly, but professional service? Yes! Is it the kind of place where you can just relax,spend time and not feel rushed with friends or family in the warmth of an enjoyable restaurant? Absolutely! “5 stars all around. Stopped in for lunch with friends and had tall, frosty mugs of beer, while waiting for our delicious Beef Roll with Au Jus, also had homemade soup, burgers, and sloppy joes. Everything was delicious, friendly service, and reasonably priced, which is hard to find nowadays! Give this place a try! “Pretty good food! Pleasant surprise considering the discrete location. Service was great and homelike. The ambiance resembles a small town bar, comfortable quaint and familiar! Highly recommended if you're in the Oswego Montgomery area and looking for something a little different! Prices are moderate and are worth the food quality!!“

“I didn’t eat here but was looking for a place that had Karaoke on Saturday for my birthday. Was recommended and I showed up. DJ Krista (I hoped I spelled it right) was GREAT, she played ALL TYPES OF GENRES and man can SHE SING! She also had the whole place sing me HBD which was really nice gesture by all. The people were all about a good time. Amber the bartender was so nice and welcoming! Will definitely come back.“

“Good bar with good bar food. From the outside, I thought it was just another dive bar. Not close. Inside was clean, cozy and friendly. Had the "Go for Gusto" burger. Delicious! If you're looking for a small local bar with no pretense, this might just be for you.“

“Very fun and friendly atmosphere. Have been there a few times with friends and family. Our server, Marissa, was awesome. Marissa is very attentive, never letting our drinks run out and always checking on our table with a smile. I have eaten several items from the menu, never been disappointed with a meal......I do miss the Scotch Eggs though....This place is worth the stop, reminds me of a cozy neighborhood bar with enough tv's to cover every sporting event.“

“It was just a bar when I got there. The kitchen was closed so I couldn’t comment in the food. The bar staff were so very friendly. They suggested drinks for different members of our group who didn’t know what shots to get. Nice setup but have to deduct a star for no grill in the bar and grill.“
