I like a good dive bar. Old domestic beer, cheap liquor, pool, darts, minimal entertainment but for the people around you. A good hole in the wall is a pleasure unto itself. I'm not sure I have that sort of place in my repertoire for a good hang, but I'd happily do an after work session at Peacocks Tavern pending similar minded work compatriots agreeing to it.The building facade looks old. Just had a need for a cold beer ? and stopped in here. The atmosphere is true to an old Mississippi River town bar. The bartender we had was amazing. I believe her name was Vennesa. She gave us some of the background of the bar and city. She filled us in on some of the breweries in the area. Great place to take a break from the road.
