I measure a Mexican restaurant's authenticity by whether they have tongue tacos. If so, that means they have a significant Hispanic clientele (at least in the Midwest). I never expected tongue meat by the looks of this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. And they were good. Not amazing, but good.
I really do enjoy this place. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's not consistent. One day salsa is perfect and not spicy, then 2 other times it is. The Alan's chicken 1 time wasn't spicy and the 2nd time it was. I wonder if time of day matters. Very delicious place to go in and eat or take home and eat. Service was great. Super love the colorful chairs inside.

13 Year Customer. Love this family owned traditional Mexican restaurant. Kind, attentive, flavorful, excellent atmosphere, they'll even serve more traditional dishes if asked. A model for introducing traditional Mexican dishes to a rural community. RECOMMENDED.
