Not from Rockford but we found our way here to visit the local Japanese garden.

After searching Google for dinner plans we settled on Plume and wow, what a great decision that was.

Menu was very intriguing so we ended up trying a bunch of things.

For appetizers the eggplant fries were delicious as well as the fig and prosciutto bruschetta, oh my what unexpected deliciousness! The grilled cauliflower was another delicious dish.

For my main meal I got the lasagna bolognese and omg, this was absolutely fantastic. Fresh homemade noodles and amazing flavors throughout.

Then we got Tiramisu to go and received a giant piece that I couldn't stop eating once we got home.“

“We were staying in a hotel not far from Anna's Pizza. From the outside, it looks like a fairly modest place. And it is. When I got inside, I could see it was CLEAN. That's very important to me.

The young woman who greeted me was really nice. Pleasant. Great service. I ordered a large, two-topping pizza. GOOD price. The 20-minute wait while they made the pizza worth the time!

I got back to the hotel and the pizza was DELICIOUS. Good crust. Generous toppings. Tasty sauce.

OH! And I told her we were at a hotel, and the young woman packed up some paper plates and napkins. Nice touch.“

“The second time to dine at John's and it is now our favorite restaurant in Rockford and possibly the whole world. Calamari was exquisite, best I've ever had. Seafood stuffed red snapper was phenomenal. My husband said that his pizza may very well be the best he's ever had. We are from Freeport, but we will be driving to Rockford just to eat at John's.“

“My order was late being delivered and we figured out it was likely delivered to the wrong address. The staff was helpful, quickly remade the order, and delivered it without a problem. The delivery driver was very polite and even ensured our address was corrected in the system. I appreciate their great customer service and the food was amazing as always.“

“had a great experience at Olivo Garden today. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. What really made the visit special was the excellent service.

I want to give a special thanks to Grace, our server. She was very kind, patient, and professional. When I told her that I am still learning English, she took the time to explain the dishes clearly and made sure I understood everything. Her respectful attitude made the whole experience easier and more comfortable.

But, went again today and the same thing. I called to say I was disappointed as I pay $5.50 for a bowl and it should be full. The young gal who answered the phone informed me they are under new ownership and have lessened the proportions! Likely have lost my business now. It's a shame!“

“I was told that Gerry’s Pizza is amazing. Well it really isn’t. We tried it yesterday for the first time. We asked for a very thin crust and while it was thin it wasn’t more so than any other thin crust. The sauce lacked flavor. It was at best bland. We asked for extra sausage & cheese. If what they gave us was extra I’d hate to see what regular cheese & sausage consisted of. The bigger letdown was the “Fresh Calamari.” This wasn’t fresh! It was straight from the freezer bag to the deep fryer. Breading was very institutional from a place like Gordon Food Service. The person that took my order over the phone and got my food for me was very nice. You get one chance to make a first impression. Gerry’s food fell far short.“

“We moved here 2 years ago and discovered Giordano’s a few months ago. Every deep dish pizza has been OUTSTANDING! Tonight we ordered a Meatball Sandwich, a Chicken Parm Sandwich, Garlic Parmesan Fries, and Broken Cannolis for dessert. Everything was delicious! I was delighted to bite into my Chicken - it’s a real portion of lightly breaded chicken cooked perfectly-NOT a chewy fried patty! The sauce is rich and tangy. I pay attention to details- I like that my sandwich was sliced on the diagonal- it shows flair. I appreciate the fresh mint leaf garnish on the cannoli filling- simple but shows that you care about presentation. My husband’s meatball sandwich was also delicious, and the Garlic Parm Fries were nice addition. SO yummy. Thank you for the great meal- we’ll be back!“

“I've been driving past this place since they opened, but only recently had a chance to eat there when a friend and I stopped in to try it. My friend had pizza and I had an Italian beef sandwich. Our server were very friendly. The Italian beef was delicious, and I had enough left over to take with me. My friend was equally pleased with the pizza. Yesterday, I decided I didn't feel the cooking after I got off work, so I pulled up the online menu and put an order in. The online process was easy to navigate, and my order was ready by the time I arrived to pick it up at the convenient drive thru. The gal who waited on me was super friendly. I ordered the "baby" pizza - 6 slices, and the toppings were very generous; cheesy garlic bread with a side of sauce (which was in a closed container and wŕapped in cellophane just to be safe against spilling) and a canoli. Everything was excellent. I will definitely be ordering again when I am too lazy to cook!“
