It is nice to have a Soul food restaurant here in the heartland of Rockford IL. To begin with, Our food was extremely salty, it was almost like the seasons salt was intentional. It was absolutely too much. I could not eat it. It was well, Folks just to much SALT---nowadays folks are watching there sodium intake. Therefore the Chef(s) should be cognizant of this important fact. You can use all kinds of herbs and make your food taste subperbly without the extra salt. And you can get some good ones at low costs. Our food had too much(the chicken wings, black eyed peas, greens, gumbo, all of it!). So, unless I crave soul food at this point it would be hard for us to return. I do however, wish Ms LaCreasia the very best as I do believe she will get better over time in preparing the love of food for God's people. Additionally, Give people your best. Anyway, our experience was not good at all. Maybe next time!

We dine in and just love the home cooked freshly prepared food. If you want box food and can food, go to the Golden Coral. Not here. Everything here is made to order. The food is delicious and portion sizes are very generous. Spices and flavors are bar none. I personally love to cook and don’t like going out. BUT, when I eat here, I get food that is so tasty and good, that I am happy. This food makes me smile. It is satisfying, and I will frequent this restaurant. There is no other place in Rockford where the owner comes out and greets you with warmth like you will experience here. Everything is made with love. One last thing. Those who are giving negative reviews, take the time to read what they are saying about other places. These are generally negative people with bad attitudes about life. Life is full of good people. Life is what you make it.

Do not waste your money at this place! The fried chicken had no seasoning or taste to it (how are you a soul food restaurant and can't fry chicken?

If there was a zero star option I would give them it. The owner was so incredibly rude, the chicken was gross, tasted like someone went to Walmart and just picked a bag up and called it good enough. Would not recommend to anyone

Lacreasia Soul Food I visited while I was up with my mom in the hospital. It was not good. The chicken tasted very old, they were fat, antibiotic tasting I don't like fat wings they don't taste right and no seasoning overcooked couldn't finish one. The Sweet potatoes tasted old, and canned. The saving grace from no stars was the spaghetti when I tell you that it was so good it was so full of flavor they should really just make that an entree of it's own and buisness will pick right up.

II wanted to give this place a good review, I ordered a huge dinner from here for our job potluck awhile back...the greens were from a can, the fish was mushy, and the yams were waaaay too sweet!!! These were comments from my co workers! I love greens so I also agree that the greens came from a can, I'm sure it's different when ordering smaller portions, but ordering for a party may be asking to much.

My husband and I ate at Lacreasias for the first time and we LOVED IT! The fried chicken was FULL of flavor! Everything is made from scratch here so the wait is expected, but is worth it! We had the chance to meet Lacreasia herself and she is the brightest, sweetest lady you will ever meet. We anticipate coming back! I'm sorry, but the NEGATIVE reviews of this restaurant are irrelevant, UNTRUE reviews from rude people with a hateful heart. They'll complain about the chicken here but I can bet you they have no problem eating at KFC and Burger King 5x a week. Disregard the negative reviewers, let them eat somewhere else. The food is undeniably delicious, I think you would love it. We will be returning customers! 5+stars. Eat here, and be BLESSED.

I made a rather futile attempt to purchase a single biscuit. A congenial young woman proclaimed that they didn't have any biscuits. I truly could not believe my ears yet I somehow managed to comprehend the answer as it was explained to me with a very kind voice. I wanted it to go was my soft retort and slowly raced out the door. I will be back because I have an inclination to consume sustinance during business hours. If the food tastes as good as the pictures appear I might enjoy this beautiful establishment.

I stopped in here to order some Mac and cheese for my toddler after going to the discovery center..ended up buying that, some steamed cabbage and mashed potatoes and gravy. It was all so good I wish I would've bought more food. My daughter liked it and she's the pickiest eater. We got corn bread with it for free that was bomb too. I'll be back for sure!

First time takeout, looking for different experience and overall we enjoyed a very satisfying meal. Chicken and fish were well prepared, not overdone, really tasty. BBQ tips were delicious, nice sweet sauce, tips a little firm, but satisfying. Sides were awesome, and really quite the variety, really good. Loved the cornbread! A welcome change from the burger and pizza fare.
