The food was absolutely delicious! All freshly made by Rick’s lovely wife. Rick is an extremely personable human being. We drove out of our way to eat here and learned that another customer who was there with us had driven 45 minutes for this amazing cuisine.

we are family of four people entered in Restaurant at 8:40 PM and they refused to serve us. They said we are closed but time was 840 and the sign was showing is open and open till 9 PM on their website and I told you guys it’s not 9 o’clock yet you must serve us he said no this is my restaurant I can close anytime I said but put the sign outside. Restaurant is closed and he was kind of rude. I would never go back on this place and I would not recommend to anyone to go there thank you.

Truly a hidden gem that I wish more people knew about! Every single dish we tried was outstanding—from the perfectly seasoned kebabs to the warm, fluffy pita bread, and the freshest falafel you’ll find anywhere. I have to give a special mention to their lamb shawarma and the baba ghanoush (which was smoky and delicious). As a foodie, I'm always looking for places that gives off a different experience, and this one absolutely does. The service is fantastic - the owner is kind and attentive, and makes everyone feel welcome like family. You can really taste the authenticity in every bite, and it's obvious how much passion goes into both the food and the whole dining experience. Sahara Mediterranean is easily one of Rockford's best-kept secrets. Don’t miss out!

This place is authentic and delicious. This is one food category you can trust to be made from real ingredients, and everything is hearty and satisfying, genuine food! I took my four kids in here and we ordered the small family dinner which was phenomenal and everyone was satisfied at the end. We even had enough food to eat it for dinner that night. The small family dinner includes sample of various things in case you didn't know for sure what you wanted.

Genuinely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had and I’m so sad that this is just my first time coming in. Lived in Rockford for almost 13 years and just recently heard about Sahara. Rick was so kind about food recommendations and wanted to make sure we enjoyed everything we ordered. The food WAS amazing and I will be back!

What a wonderful experience!!
At Sahara restaurant with Bruce and Kevin....and this was wonderful food!! We had gyros, baba ghanouj, foul (Mediterranean spiced fava beans with spices, garlic, lemon), Jerusalem salad, Taboula and falafil.....YUM!!!

The owner is a treasure!!
Will be back again!!

Best halal arabic cuisine in the town. We tried mixed shawarma, hummus, and so on. Tastes yummy the owner is unbelievably kind and pure gentleman. Can’t recommend enough for so many good reasons.

My boyfriend and I were planning a road trip and searched for restaurants along our route. The photos for this restaurant on Google drew our eye so we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and just as beautiful as in the photos. We'll definitely be back again!
