Checked out The Spot on 7th Street this morning. Yum!! Chorizo and eggs - nice spice. Eggs over easy cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned biscuit gravy. Double thumbs up!!

Amazing food from breakfast to dinner. If you're looking for a Soul Food place, this is the one and only place you need to come in Rockford. Very pristine abd smells very fresh here. I'd recommend even truckers to make a stop here on 7th St in the downtown district. Trucker friendly ?????

Love this place!! I eat here almost weekly! Friendly, great food, accommodating, clean. Both hosts, male and female, are great and so very welcoming!
This is a smaller place. But the price is good and the food is excellent. Come and enjoy.

This happened about a month and a half ago, but I had visited Rockford to see my sister whom moved here. Deciding to try local food I tried the Spot Cafa. Male cook doesn’t want to wear a mask, complains about how it’s not fair as if this is all some kind of joke. There isn’t a sign on the door to mention social distancing, and or that a mask will be required to eat or even stand in that establishment. Cook re-uses cups for patrons that he shouldn’t be doing since the emergence of Covid-19. Make weird statements about going into the woods and never coming back, very creepy and unsettling. Also has 2 women behind the counter, holding a dog about 3-4 feet from the grill. This place couldn’t be more out of place if it tried. Hoping the health inspector enjoys what he finds.Won’t be coming back with me or my daughter.
