"Restaurant" is a room attached to a Mexican restaurant. (Credit card statement will say Maria's.) I've been to other hotpot locations around Chicagoland that were both better quality and cheaper. High prices/required gratuity/TERRIBLE service. When we arrived we asked the waitress to explain to us the process of ordering and they could not explain it. (I think it may have been language barrier.) They often ignored us when we requested additional portions for the all you can eat. Bizarre and expensive experience.

My number 1 hot pot spot! I have been here several times and my friends and I still keep going there! It is usually empty at noon/lunch and you basically have the place yourself. It gets busier in the late afternoon to around 7 PM. It is around $27 per person but comes with unlimited meat, veggies, and soup mix. ALL YOU CAN EAT! You have to pay for the drinks. We usually get the best of both worlds soup and it is a mixture of the original and spicy soup. I love to add their thinly sliced marbled beef, mussels, shrimps (fresh!), fish and shrimp balls, quail eggs, napa cabbage, and bokchoy! I also never forget to order the amazing cucumber salad and the delicious fried bun. We mix our sauce the way the like it and usually consist of garlic, soysauce, chili, and chives. I would surely recommend this place.

For this price better go to Happy Lamb!

It’s ridiculous how slow it is for everything. There is a total of 5 tables here including ours and we’ve been here for almost an hour and our orders still not here. I will never come back here again and will make sure to warn everyone about this. It’s a huge waste of

Casual, little restaurant attached to a Maria's Mexican Bar & Grill. We had the original bone broth with raw shrimp (in shell), chicken, broccoli & and ramen, and my husband had a margarita. All in all, it's a lighter meal. We both thought the food and experience were okay. Our bill already had a 15% gratuity pre-added, yet it had a box to "Add Tips," which if you're not checking the details, you could possibly over-tip. As of 1/21/24, our bill was $59.61. Go for a different experience, average food.Parking: Outdoor strip mall parking.

I’ve had hotpot at other places that was wayyy better than this. The selection is small. The self serve station was very small for sauces and such. It was also super pricey. The option to have more flavor wasn’t really there. We were also rushed once the kitchen had final call. It was an okay experience but I wouldn’t go again. The fried buns were really good though.

price is ok. But this restaurant auto charge tips over 2 people … there is notice on menu. But really not easy to see . The words size really small. And during check out time. Nobody mention the tips already included. So I was stupid to leave another 20% tips.

The quality of the food is great, and there's a sauce station with lots of options like soy, chilies, sesame oil, cilantro, garlic, siracha...It's in a strip mall and not the most attractive setting, but it's definitely worth checking out.

Great food, nice environment, good for family or friend gatherings. Easy parking. Would highly recommend it!

They charge a mandatory 20% tip which is ridiculous. The servers don’t do too much to warrant a 20% tip. They’ve also increased their prices but the food quality hasn’t improved.

Horrible experience. Food was just OK.**BEWARE OF THE 18% GRATUITY FOR PARTIES OF 2 OR MORE**There were multiple reasons why our experience was undesirable.1 - We ordered the "All you can eat" hot pot. You have the option to order up to three rounds but we both only ordered one round as the amount served was plenty. Nothing was ordered in excess and we mostly ordered vegetables with one meat selection.2 - We ordered the spicy broth and I love very spicy food. This was beyond spicy so I expressed this to the waitress. She offered to add some regular broth but I declined because that would not even help being it was beyond tolerable. Then then finally brought a new broth but warned it was a one time concession. I guess they considered that to be generous but it's literally water with flavor so I am not seeing how the generosity. I literally picked out the hot peppers and there were about 40+ in addition to hot oil so that is more than excessive3 - Being we did not finish our soup, we requested to take the remaining home. The waitress told us this was not an option as we selected the "all you can eat" option. No where did it state you cannot do so but there was something indicating there was a $30 charge for having excessive leftovers. This was not the case, yet we were still denied a to go container. We then asked the server what she will do with the remaining and she simply stated "toss it in the trash". I said you would rather trash it than have me take it home; she walked to get our check, placed it on the table and never returned.4 - I looked at the check and it was just under $100. I was a bit puzzled so I began reviewing it. A soft drink was $4, tax did not list the percentage but it was approximately 11% from my calculation. and there was an 18% gratuity added. I then questioned it with the man who came to the table. He then took the bill and returned it to me with the gratuity fee removed. The waitress barely did anything and certainly did not deserve 18% gratuity. I have always tipped 20% or more when dining out but this was an exception to my rule. The waitress made no effort to please the customer. Quite frankly, she seemed quite bothered to have customers.I knew it should have been a sign that there were only two other tables occupied when we arrived and no one else came while we were there. In today's economy, choosing to toss food in the trash rather than give it to the customer is absurd. Also it is clear why it is not busy because of the way they treat the customers.I never mind paying for good food and service but I refuse to spend money in establishments that don't appreciate customers.Lastly, how is it possible for a manager to not know what tax percentage they are charging. Being the receipt did not state the percentage, it leads me to believe that they are adding some fluff to it and pocketing it. Very suspicious.

I don't like buffets served at the table. I like to go for walks and pick up my favorite food depending on my preferences. And I don't like that a 15% tip is included in my food bill. The food is ok, but the service is like this. I didn't like it and probably won't go back.

1st time there, better than my expectations. Definitely will come again to explore the menu. Huge portions, so be careful that your eyes don't have a bigger appetite than your stomach.
