“The most fun night I have ever had at a bar in my life, and I am old! We (my sister and I) stopped there on the way to Branson, and met so many fun, kind people from Kadie the barmaid (who looks like Sally on the Young & the Restless), to Darrin dressed like CrownRoyal Apple,to the 4 nurses from the local hospital (twin sisters among them), to a pretty gal who dances for a living, to the absolute cute guy who was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Effingham, to the many truckers who drove for General Motors, special order motorhome deliveries, meat and produce cross-country drivers, etc. Everybody knew everybody it seemed, and they knew our names by the end of the night. It was a blast! Definitely would return again! You and your regular customers are super!“

“We attended a thank you dinner at the Effingham Event Center as volunteers with over 100 others. It was catered by Niemerg's Restaurant which is always great. They honored most everyone with small gifts.My wife and I volunteer at Enduring Freedom Ministries in Shumway. As a Master Mason our group volunteers for the blood drive held at the Event Center. I've done it the last two times. Several Masons from our lodge volunteered to install the youth reading stations at Lake Sara. We will finish the project in the spring. There are 25 stations for kids to read books which can be changed. It is in cooperation with the Effingham Public Library. At the end they will walk one quarter mile.My wife made 135 Christmas stockings for FISH to give to nursing home, assisted living, or hospital patients. They filled each with personal hygiene items, activity books, candy,etc. We love doing stuff like this by giving back to the community.“

“Only G*d and Peyton Manning get 5 star reviews.Limited beer selection, and I ate waaaay too much popcorn while hustling $100 from some local suckers at the pool table. I was pleasantly surprised to find such an inclusive establishment along my walk to DeKalb.Had planned to sleep on the roof, but couldn't get comfortable, so a truck driver offered me a ride. Well, it was the middle of the night when the beer and popcorn farts hit and they tossed me out of the semi.... Are there mountains in Illinois????? I have NO IDEA where I am at!!!“

“Excellent food, fast service. We were driving through to Indianapolis and found this gem. They even filled up our yeti cups to go with lots of ice.
We passed on the $10 for 2 margaritas deal, but they looked great, and other people were complementing them.“

“Had our wedding at the effingham event center in February and it was the perfect place. We had rented the big room for our reception and it comfortably fit all our guests. The staff was great at the bar, and Mark was very helpful answering any questions we had. Great place for a wedding reception!“

“Chilis is my absolute favorite restaurant and I’ve been to a fair amount of them but this is always my overall favorite. The service is amazing and food is never a miss here. Clean restaurant and extremely convenient to take care of your check at the table whenever your ready“
